I had an incident occur during work this week. Relatively speaking it was very minor and didn't result in a wreck or injury in the slightest, but it was enough to get the police involved. I was assured at the end of the run that these kind of situations are in fact not rare and their insurance policy would take care of everything. That all may be true, but I was rather distraught about it all after it had occurred and the scene had resolved. How quickly time flies in that now two days have since transpired and my mentality on the job is basically now as it was any of the days beforehand. I suppose this is my way of trying not to dwell on it too much either. At least the holiday coming around this week resulted in one day off and two days both feeling like they were Saturday runs, which means substantially reduced traffic and a shorter route run in total. Getting onto the expressway today was glorious. There have been days where I would climb that ramp and come to find it filled with cars as far as I could see. Today, I reached that same point to see a total of three cars ahead of me. Three. I think it's entirely possible that I'll never have that happen again.

We have a new TV. Long story short, we will cover the rest of a Christmas gift dollar allotment to obtain a set which my parents just purchased a few days ago, and they decided to do this after realizing that they want the same TV but with an even larger screen. That works out well. I had mentioned to them that I was interested in a new TV for a gift this year, but I made that offer with the intent of getting something entry level, mostly because a) we don't really care about the latest TV technology, much less even watch broadcast TV or have cable and b) I figured that a standard LCD 1080P set would be a few hundred at most by now. Turns out I was wrong about that latter part, but just as I was about to suggest something else instead, they made the offer for their set. It's a Samsung UHD thing. It looks really nice. Now we just need to play with how it interacts with the sound system and other things to get it all to function as we'd like.

On the subject of parents, today is the designated dinner day as opposed to Thanksgiving proper, so it's about time to mozy off to attend to that.

This was a down week for songs. I had a few long work days and other things to sort out in the week which basically made my sessions rushed and come at inopportune times. Oh well. At least things shaped up for today.
