There were two prevailing themes to this week's work days. The first half of the week was National Engine and Transmission Return Week, as I combined to bring about fifty of them back to the hub on the first two days. At least I was fortunate enough to have the proper pallet jacks with me on both days, and there's no new snow to worry about here, so I was able to handle the work with little issue beyond the extra time required to do so. The rest of the week had me start out an hour late basically each day due to issues of outbound volume or freight not arriving to the hub on time for it to be loaded. All told, I ended the first four days of work at least two hours late each time, and today's run put me an hour behind at the end of it. The week flew by with little else going on beyond a cycle of sleep, work, home and awake for two hours, repeat.

While on bathroom breaks, I've been reading more of Bridges of Memory lately. It's a pretty interesting read, but I am honestly a bit surprised by how open some of the statements are in respect to the segregated nature of Chicago and its people - in particular, I've seen a few lines speak of city areas which "we have" and "they have". Despite it being something that "everyone does", it still wasn't something I was expecting to encounter so plainly. Regardless, there's plenty of other recollections and experiences stated which makes it interesting for me to read.

I was able to make it to the arcade before 1015AM today, so I was able to get a lot of uninterrupted play - but towards the end of the day, there was a troop of women who entered the place and, uh, well, I think this picture, blurry and hastily taken as it may be, says enough:
