In the course of my job route I go past a fire station. It's on a major street and near an intersection (to its west), and there are stop lights both at said intersection as well as to its immediate east, which effectively marks the border of the area in which there are to be no cars stopped in order for the fire trucks to actually leave when needed. To further reinforce this point, the entire area of street which meets the opening to the station is marked with large diagonal white stripes. Pop Quiz: What do white stripes on a public street mean? Pop Answer: You don't stop your car on them. Given all of these indicators, however, it apparently isn't enough for the current generation of people who drive cars on this road. The fire station has a letter board on the property, and right now it has a statement which asks for drivers to "please [not] stop on the white stripes so that we can get out". This signifies that the occurrence of people getting trapped between the two lights and not understanding that it would be permissible to roll through the western light so that the striped area is clear is rather frequent.

I wonder if my parents' paranoia about the government is seeping into my brain, because I felt like there was much more police presence on the road this past 15th than there usually is and has been in a while. It seemed like every city had a few units parked in speed trap spots, as well as having more on the road outright. I didn't detect the same kind of frequency since then. Was there something in the works or am I imagining things.

I'm tired of him speaking to me in that tone and questioning what I'm doing during work. I don't understand how things are more of a problem now than before. We've been working together for nearly a year. What is his reason for talking out loud about us not knowing how to do our job between bouts of standing idly and poking around on shit on his phone. Don't help me, then. You're not my boss, so let me be a fuck up on my own, all right?

I can't play D3 during the week, at least this soon after the new patch is out yet. There's no such thing as a short session, especially when people who were offline (which I can verify using the ipad app) magically appear when I come on. Oh well. Three weeks or less, everyone else will be gone again.
