For the first four days of this work week, I used four different tractors on the route. For the first three days of this, I had to start the day by first going to the nearby truck rental facility to fuel up, which meant that everything else I need to do to prepare for the route gets pushed back that much longer. Despite that, in respect of volume both inbound and outbound my days were basically normal, so running the route wasn't too bad once I got rolling. When I finally got "my" old tractor back two days ago, I really did appreciate it and noticed how it subtly handled differently to me than the other tractors, and this is despite them all being the same manufacturer and more similar than not. Capping the week off was today's very light run within which I had some of the best arrival times I've had in weeks, and this was despite several stops each giving me engines and transmissions to take back.

The results of my background check (complete with fingerprint submission) have returned and I'm clear to apply for Hazmat certification. Hooray. Now I get to study for the test. It won't be difficult.

My personal car needed $500 worth of repairs to its rear brakes. It was more of an inconvenience to pick it up after the repair than it was to make the payment. (All you needed to do was be ready to leave when I came home. I sent the usual text when I left. Why wasn't that enough?) I'm glad to have caught it before anything became worse, or even stranded me on a road.

I did go to the arcade last week, but some unforeseen maintenance prevented me from actually going inside. Just happened to be that single day and time that I arrived. Awesome. I intend to return this weekend.

I didn't have much time for songs this week, but I still managed to get some new records down. It does seem like I had better success in not being too sloppy on the misses here.
