My work route has been adjusted, with the changes in effect starting next week. The first four stops are removed, and I must run the route in the sequential order as set by the parent corporation rather than the adjusted method which had been done before. I lose $20 per day for the change, but I should have at least two hours less time to take on the route, which means I can do the pre-load preparation and recover the $20 loss, and doing that in turn should mean my runs will go smoother through the day as well (since I'll have everything set in place by myself beforehand). It could also mean less possibility for distress in the winter time, since it seems that I can spend much more of the journey on interstate roads.

Those are the positives. The negatives to this change is that the only reason why this has come about is because a few customers, especially those towards the end of it, were complaining about me being there "too late" to the parent company with enough frequency that they put the hammer down and made the change. However, long story short and with time records to prove it, I know I could have been making all stops at the times they desired had I ever had the chance to start my route at the actual intended start time. This week in particular was generally the best week I've had in terms of time, and the arrivals which I had were in fact within the limits that the customers have stated, but I was still no earlier than a half hour late at the start on a given day. Essentially, my route is being changed - I am being punished - for an issue which is beyond my control. Also, the first person to inform me of this upcoming change wasn't any person who could be considered a "boss" to me; rather, it was the dock loader who is assigned my route who broke the news. Before this point, there was no prior discussion or hint that a change of this nature was on the horizon. When did any such boss intend on directly informing me of this change? Having an adjustment in pay, especially a negative adjustment, seems like the kind of thing which I should reasonably expect to have announced to me well before anyone else who isn't a "boss" would come to know of it.

Perhaps those questions will not need to be further contemplated in the short term future.

Arcade visit was good last week as well, so I intend to continue doing that as time permits and while I seem to continue to have a good time with it. Meanwhile, sessions this week were plentiful but I don't feel that they were quite as good as they have been in the recent past. Still nothing awful at least.
