Every day of work this week I was at least forty minutes late at the start of the route. If what I heard from another driver is to be believed, the entire reason for the delay is due to one of the distributing part plants which we serve. Allegedly, they somehow blundered scheduling to an extent that fourteen (out of how many, I don't know) employees who do the work of compiling the outbound freight were granted vacation at the same time. The biggest disappointment about this beyond that factor alone is that the volume of freight I had to handle on my route this week was relatively very small, so had that issue not been present, I should have had easy days this entire week. Well, that is, except for today. Today's fun included an air governor valve breaking off for no discernible reason (the low air pressure warning came as I was making a three-point back up and well in the middle of the route, and I had not hit any kind of bump or had run over anything to bump into it). The positive point about this is that it occurred while I was in an enclosed lot as opposed to somewhere on the road, so there were no issues of safety concerns or accessibility for conducting the repair. Despite that, through the duration of discovering the problem, calling maintenance, having the mechanic arrive, having the mechanic leave to retrieve the replacement part, and having the mechanic remove pieces from the new part to place onto the old part (because the old part was obsolete and the new part wouldn't fit in my tractor), four hours elapsed. I wasn't even able to complete the entirety of my route today.

I'm ready to do a lot of nothing right now.

Song sessions at home weren't too great until today at least, and at last. The previous arcade visit was OK, but I think having something of a near-accident while on the way there was enough to rattle my nerves to the point of distraction. Here's hoping for better things tomorrow.
