Today's run was the highlight to the work week. It appears that some kind of Friday the 13th curse hit the GM ordering system, so no normal freight from the local part deployment center was processed and shipped out. After getting gas for the truck at the end of the route and getting food on the way home, I walked in exactly at noon. I can't recall the last time I was able to do that. This does pretty much guarantee that the outbound load will be doubled up for Monday's run, but I'll enjoy today's reprieve for what it is regardless.

This week is new toy week for my wife and myself. There may be a financial shift coming in the future, so in light of that we resolved to get some heavy ticket purchases made now rather than postpone them further only to have them be at risk of never happening if everything else turns bad. My indulgence was a Sony Walkman MP3 player. The audio device is a vital part of keeping my sanity through the week, and I always am having new content be made with the recordings from Castle FM 79, so I was wondering if it would be wise to get a device that allows for greater capacity than a Ipod Touch, and with this new item allowing Micro SD cards, it's definitely easier to obtain higher capacity. 64GB Micros are $20 now. My wife's purchase is more interesting, as she obtained a new Cintiq. They're widescreen now, and the model she has been using is now approximately seven years old. She was intending on making it the big year-end purchase after another season of doing commission work for Blizzcon badges, but I didn't have to do much talking to convince her that now would be a good time to make the purchase in light of her work pretty much assured to be coming. The old screen had definitely served its purpose, and it was starting to develop dead zones in the corners. A replacement was due.

Depending on what my friend feels like doing, I may end up visiting two arcades tomorrow. My visit for Copula last weekend wasn't too great (for which I'm inclined to blame the company being over within that period, even if they left twelve hours prior to my playing), and I want to try to rectify that by doing better this weekend. If we end up going to the second location, I just hope that more of their machines are in functional condition. Enough of them are playable to justify going there every once in a while, but it's a bummer to see their huge list of games online only to arrive and discover that only a portion of them are in viable condition.

Home sessions were basically very good this week, which is another main reason why I'm going to go in for more Copula tomorrow regardless of any other plans. I'm hoping that the consistent play in both formats as I've been doing will continue to yield improvements as they have been. Today's run wasn't too great in comparison, but I did get an initial sensation that I knew I was moving slower than I was capable of playing. I think I managed to turn it around a bit towards the end. Interesting to see today's plays be so sloppy compared to previous days where I had some much cleaner records.
