It's halftime.

My younger niece is having a baptism soon, and it's summer. I was due for a haircut. I went to have it done at the same place I did last time, which is at a point that's on my driving work route. It's a pretty small farm town. There's an area of more gravel than pavement in the rear of the parking lot where trucks sit, and I'm leaving from the store to return to my vehicle. I unlock the passenger's side first, then begin to walk over to the driver's side to leave. I then hear a woman call out behind me.

"Were you looking for something in my car?"

I pause and look towards the lot to see where the voice is coming from. When she sees that I'm looking at her, she asks again. "Me? No." I respond back. There's about forty feet of distance between us. It was already late and I was ready to get home. I didn't see any reason to respond any further, so I proceeded to my truck and started to leave. No gesture, no vocalized response, nothing else. I take the long way around to get out, and she essentially goes around behind me, and eventually were side by side as we wait for a light to change. I glance over and see her scowl at me with determination. She wasn't that old, maybe fifty at most. Apparently I had committed some kind of major transgression. Thankfully it wasn't long before we parted ways. I guess the lesson to be learned here is to not keep your head up when walking past other people's cars in a parking lot? I guess? Or just avert direct visual contact with cars outright? I'm not exactly sure how this all came about.

Speaking of farm towns, one thing that's still novel to me is seeing thunderstorms come down on farm land in the night; without any kind of buildings or lights to obstruct the long view, you can see the lightning streaks flash over the entirety of your vision as they strike. If driving in the rain wasn't so annoying I might like the experience more.

My wife really likes the new Voltron show. A lot. I've seen the first two episodes and I ... think it's pretty specifically targeted to the child demographic. If anything, I think the CG robot animations look too smooth in contrast to the traditional animation used on the rest of the show. I wouldn't say that the visual styles integrate poorly, but that the difference of fluidity between the two is quite drastic.

Home song sessions were pretty good this week, except today's plays weren't as sharp as other days and took a while for me to get into a good mindset. I think I might be done unlocking songs in Copula, so now perhaps I can get to the soul crushing phase of doing nothing but playing and failing 12s.
