Let's dive in and give them a sight read play before I encounter them on my random sets. Songs are played without chart modifiers.

Title - difficulty rating/notes - Result readout(EX; JG G GD B P Letter Rating Pass/Fail) : thoughts

4bidden Area - 12/1393 - 1295; 398 499 247 79 290 B -292 Fail : Using the "seiryu" alias with the 4 in the title is implying a Ryu* homage, and I guess it could be seen as one if one goes in with that mentality but otherwise it was pretty flat, at least in terms of bass and driving "dance" music feeling. Midbreak BPM gimmick. Meh.

A Flower Garden - 11/1071 - 1232; 432 368 155 72 96 A -196 Fail : Awful! Pokey child like music sounding with bad scratch chords leading up to a BPM double rush at the end. Glad I won't encounter this often if ever again.

Adamantite - 11/1224 - 1710; 623 464 98 15 50 AA -194 Pass: Pretty neat, with good use of voice samples and interesting end phrase with new syncopation that is a bit of a surprise. Got a bit hairy with having to do some note jacks on one hand while doing stuff elsewhere.

Aleph_0 - 11/1333 - 1379; 493 393 321 85 61 B -102 Fail: Feh. Piano Sonataish thing that used an instrument sample which was very electronic based and had some bad volume control which made it sound distorted at its peaks. Rubato BPM shifts weren't so bad but some of the climatic rolls were bad chord drops. Not impressed.

Angel Wing - 12/2944 - 4070; 1544 982 250 61 198 AA -509 Fail: Long version here was about 3 minutes I think, maybe closer to 4. More good parts than bad parts I think. Clean sound and I can see some parts where the homage to Super Star Mitsuru came out.

Black Flag - 10/1621 - 2519; 1023 473 73 23 59 AA -2 Fail: Another song of about three minutes duration. Minimal techno with a weird single BPM shift just for one phrase but is otherwise pretty sedate. Interesting patterns with note rolls and scratch chords. I think it is more of an 11. Probably could pass in a few tries.

Burn'Ing - 12/1406 - 1920; 713 494 123 36 102 AA -267 Fail: Rather unique deep techno with striking snare drum breaks in parts, carried by lots of shift scratching and rapid scratching spots. Neat overall, I'd say. Deceptive difficulty.

Caudaemorducus - 12/1434 - 1846; 660 526 184 55 42 A -66 Fail: Rock guitar drum and bass. Got nailed by bass roll on right hand which I was able to mash through on the left just fine - would have cleared otherwise. Just OK song, nothing remarkably bad or good.

Charon - 11/1673 - 2242; 822 598 157 38 109 AA -360 Fail: Reminds me of an LED song. Ends mid reprise, which is a neat twist. Good epic feel to it. Lots of tough note rolls - I think this should be a 12*.

cheeselove - 12/2986 - 2818; 1026 766 773 226 386 B -499 Fail: What the christ was that. Upbeat with lighter instrumentation is OK, but it took a long time to get anywhere beyond the same 8 measure melody refrain with the ending off-beat drum stomp. Any leeway to give to the song is lost by how repetitive it is. I do not look forward to the random rolls I get from this chart.

cloud tracer - 9/1027 - 1672; 688 296 24 7 24 AAA -153 Pass: The video playback made the note scroll stutter on this song, which maybe made it difficult to time at first. Dirty upbeat tempo with some simple quick piano runs otherwise. I think it might be a 10 instead of a 9. Decent.

conflict - 10/1367 - 2082; 789 504 68 14 35 AA -75 Pass: Very interesting! A combination of piano orchestral backing with schranz drum and bass. I think they managed to work it out pretty well here.

CRose[Extra] - 0/2222 - 2773; 992 789 268 69 210 A -189 Fail: Songs marked with 0* rating make me nervous, and that was justified here. Schranz for most of it with some piano interlude on other parts of it. Middle part had a 32 bar phrase of double alt-note scaling which sunk me. Probably would have passed otherwise. Call this a 12 or a strong 11. Bizarre song otherwise.

Crossover(chain mix) - 11/1221 - 1870; 731 408 49 13 47 AA -29 Pass: Genre is marked as crossover but this has a little bit of most everything (except, thankfully, whiny Japanese singing) - some string melody, some neat switch scratching, some click house type stuff mixed in, and so on. Song didn't get too repetitive overall and kept me tense for structure changes. Pretty good.

DanceNow - 12/1315 - 1776; 640 496 108 19 98 AA -269 Fail: Song is a mere 128BPM but doesn't quite feel like it after the introduction. Robot voice samples are mapped to scratches and fit in fine, but there are a lot of scratch chords, particularly by the end, and that's what sunk me. I like it enough.

deep dope dope dope - 10/473 - 650; 261 128 57 14 22 AA -85 Fail: Every note was off-beat and BPM gimmicks aplenty. Arhythmic. Dumb.

Empty Sky (prog rework DP_mix) - 10/1296 - 1981; 777 427 57 24 37 AA -35 Fail: Comboed the first 700+ notes and then it throws up offsync two note chords on a hand while you play some other phrase on the left. Good instrumentation and sound but boring song overall.

Endless Dance - 12/1027 - 1494; 565 364 51 16 44 AA -103 Pass: Not a 12. Song is completely ruined by the bad singing. Trash. Downgrading now.

Floating Water - 8/646 - 1058; 426 206 11 1 4 AAA -90 Pass: Some interesting bassline, boring otherwise. Forgettable.

FREE(remix) - 11/1111 - 1714; 680 354 51 10 36 AA -14 Pass: Pretty neat. Good vocals and had some good scratchy parts. Hold notes nearly killed me.

Gate N1 (radio edit) - 11/1497 - 1935; 729 477 241 40 23 A -61 Fail: Somewhat dumb. Has a laid back 128 BPM and feels like it, yet still has some 16th drum rolls which I rush too much to kill me. Not very impressed despite some nice bass transition.

Genesis - 12/1668 - 2539; 993 553 81 12 93 AA -55 Fail: Bleah. Had it in red for most of it, but then it wants to throw a lot of goofy double three note jacked chords at you during the climatic part. I think it could have used a bit more build up before it got to that point. Not too bad of a song.

gentle action - 11/675 - 946; 360 226 41 19 54 AA -104 Fail: Hold note hell. Jazzy instrumentation and hi-hat percussion held promise but the song is pretty stupid overall. Melody just rambles up and down without focus.

Ghost House - 12/1679 - 2545; 1008 529 76 25 111 AA -66 Fail: Chart gets a bit shitty when it wants to get complex with integrating the melody parts with the percussion and background, as it throws two-note jacks on a hand with some rolldown stuff on another side. Had a fighting chance for half of it. OK song overall.

Glory to Stormwind - 10/1408 - 1914; 700 514 151 23 59 AA -278 Pass: It sits at 10* only at the last part - I wasn't in the red until the very end of the song. Interesting mix of goa trance elements with some touches of medieval choral melody in parts. Some tough percussion breaks too. I like it enough.

GO REWRITE - 12/2000 - 1875; 619 637 314 166 472 B -347 Fail: Yikes. Most of it is a lot of 16th note 3-note chord triads in rapid succession which are basically embedded scale runs. Topped off with a two measure break that has a 360 spin on the right with a sudden drumbreak on the same hand. Can't say I'm a fan.

Going On - 12/1753 - 2145; 800 545 185 114 285 A -192 Fail: Opens with incessant jacking and ends with a lot of hold note garbage while running scales on the alternate. Vocal intonation gives an interesting contrast - song is upbeat but the vocalist's tone seems almost somber. Can't say I like the song beyond that.

hemispherectomy - 9/989 - 1364; 531 302 108 6 79 AA -174 Fail: Loud percussion with strange bass backbeat. More hold note hell, as the last refrain of it at the end is mirrored on the hands and flatlines my gauge. Strange song, and not in an exceedingly good way.

Iris -虹神少女- - 10/971 - 1445; 572 301 39 24 54 AA -65 Fail: Nuked by holds. Bouncy but unfocused song. Dislike the melody instrumentation.

Kimura Holic (dounle) - 11/1115 - 1243; 420 403 161 73 116 A-243 Fail: Retarded song with bad BPM gimmick bullshit chart. Trash.

La nyam -europa mix- - 11/1719 - 2167; 795 577 185 69 143 A -125 Fail: I get the feeling that it wants to have interesting piano runs backed by driving drum and bass but it seems pretty cheap here somehow. Song is pretty much junk. Hold notes ahoy.

Layer of the Clouds - 10/1124 - 1596; 602 392 86 23 32 AA -152 Pass: Ehhhhh. Drifty piano notes backed by rote percussion for the most. Countermelody makes it sound both somber and strange. Not terribly impressed.

LINDWURM - 12/1270 - 1297; 432 433 169 89 211 B -114 Fail: God make it stop. There was basically at least one hold note running in every measure of the song. Thanks for being upbeat without the bad singing but go somewhere for chrissakes. Yuck.

Well, that's enough for now. So far, while I can't say there's much of any song which I'm completely enamored with, there's not so many songs which I completely loathe as well. Pretty happy so far.
