Laid to rest at 430AM this morning and woke at 910AM without any alarm or provocation. OK. My mom called shortly thereafter, so I would have waken at that point regardless - and the reason that she called is to let me know that she was done with a Great Lectures DVD series (History of the World) so I could come over to borrow it, and because she wanted me to buy some specific kind of bottled water. Fine. Took care of that, brought the wife home for lunch while doing that, dropped her back off, went to drop the water off, obtained her SLR camera to borrow, drove to the South Side. There's a coal power plant which is being shut down ahead of schedule, so its future doesn't seem particularly certain even if there are no plans to demolish the structure. My Mom last use the camera on her recent vacation to Hawaii and tried to do some long exposure shots with the night sky there, and whether it was those altered settings or the type of memory card used in the camera, I had a problem which I didn't realize existed until I came home to view the pictures. What had happened was that if I took a picture too quickly, the previous image wouldn't finish writing to the card and would terminate in order to write the new picture. As a result, half of the shots which I obtained are worthless. Fabulous.

Something I've resolved to do, which I did a few times before but didn't specifically yesterday because it would have come up with the penultimate song, was to replay songs for which I had an excessively bad play in comparison to the record. For my standards, this definition would apply to something where the EX score is at least 350 or 400 off and there is a letter grade difference. For the replay, I would turn Random off. As shown with the two plays here, I think this is a good thing to do, since it helps to verify that the bad score is more due to a bad Random roll rather than me playing abnormally poorly. It also helps to keep my temper in check, which is a definite plus. Happy for a new clear, but otherwise not too great of a day.
