So very drained today. The child stayed up well past 340AM and asked me for permission to open another bottle of soda while everyone in the bedrooms nearby was asleep and I was brushing my teeth. The zoo visit left my wife and her friend more drained than I had anticipated, in that the normal night of drinking was not as prolonged this time in comparison to any other time. When we sat to play the card game, I noticed that the table cloth was sticky and asked if we had a new one to put down. My mother-in-law informed me that the only clean ones were of cloth (and we tire of having to clean the child's mess which he leaves upon them) so she wanted to simply remove the table cloth outright. I begged to have the fabric cloth placed, and they insisted it would be OK. Sure enough, within five minutes, the child managed to knock over his bottle of soda and had a spill on the table. The fabric table cloth was promptly put in place.

I shown the child GalGun last time, and he specifically asked to play the game again yesterday. As before, he insisted that he wanted to see me play the game first before trying it himself. I obliged, and put the game to Score Attack and played out one stage in five minutes and without incident. I pass the gun to him and ask him to try it, and it took him three attempts before he wasn't killed off by the first five enemies. When he shoots the gun, he lurches his entire arm out of position and shoots each shot incredibly slowly. It's as if you can see the thought process being stepped through each time he pulls the trigger: Shoot. Enemy is hit. Oh, enemy is still there, I must shoot again. Shoot again. Telling him that he'd have to shoot faster resulted in him flailing his arms even more wildly than before.

Today, after they all left, I had no energy to do anything and actually undertook a nap on the futon for a few hours instead of struggling to try to do anything constructive.

I bitch about it all so very much because throughout all the years that I have known him, he has shown no intellectual maturity and no reception of any sort of help or suggestion which I or anyone else gives him. When my wife speaks to him, he simply outright ignores her, and he tends to talk over her when she speaks and he has something he wants to say. He basically acts as if she doesn't exist. Everything about it is maddening and more aggravating with each month and year that passes. As stated before, he is fourteen years old now and a few weeks away from starting high school. I hope that he gets some swift education.

Not very good play today. Surprised that I had the increase with Dancer in such an amount. Rather unhappy to have had bad rolls with Cracker and War Game to get bounced by them.
