Three lines is all I needed to seemingly save myself from a few months of work.

What this is all about:

The XML which I generate from my IRS PDF files comes out in a single stringed mess, and I've used NoteTab Pro clips to run a series of commands to put it in proper formation. The way I did it before was to break apart the raw code and work out the individual commands as necessary so that it would all work out. One reason why I did this for each individual form, though, is because I didn't notice a way to use regular expressions in this process. After finally having some time to work with the code again after a few days' hiatus, I resolved to see if there was a way I could get regular expressions to work. It never made any sense to me for it not to work. Finally, I come across a note in the help file which says that the "R" suffix in the command lines tell the parser to view the search segment as a regular expression. Jackpot. After roughly an hour of refining the search commands, I believe I have coded in three lines what I otherwise have already coded several hundred lines to do.

I should have known better. I really should have known better.

Meanwhile, I think I'll let the batteries recharge one more day before I write some more ES draft. I have a few ideas in mind. I should have more time to work it out and get something down tomorrow.

Extra Mode.

One of the best days I've had in recent memory. I'm surprised to discover that Brazilian Rhyme does in fact get a few extra notes in EX - they're all probably in the beginning, as I had to reset the song after a first attempt which resulted in the background sound track echoing against the unplayed actual BGM. That opening is still a nightmare. Disappointed to have been sunk by Acid Vision; had some bad scratch chords sink me right before the end and I came up at 78% and probably two notes off of a clear. Another lousy C grade clear of Korsk's Polaris. I still laugh when that happens in this game, as the crowd cheer is just a single person clapping.
