Today is her birthday and our fourth anniversary.

To make a day of it and since we haven't done so in a while, we decided to go to Fry's to pick something out for her gift. I made sure to present this as a choice at first so that I could be spared the necessity of finding something to surprise her with beforehand. I think it's safe to say at this point that neither of us are particularly interested in getting cheap gifts of food or candy or movies or a game or anything particularly consumable. Of course, I say this before mentioning that the item which she was wanting to get for a while now is a new tablet computer of some kind. Thankfully, she didn't insist on an Apple product and we found some Samsung thing that had a $350 cost. It's agreed that the budget on my behalf is now expended for her birthday and Christmas gift. I just hope she finds a use for the thing. In light of the purchase, we opted to not go to the fancyish restaurant for dinner and went instead to a more inexpensive "upscale fast food" location. We went early enough to avoid the dinner crowd, so it was a nice meal.

Meanwhile, there was a sale on Berlitz language software which reduced the price to $0 after two rebates, one of which expires tomorrow, so I decided to pick up the Japanese set (which also includes Chinese). I'll need to make a point of printing out the documentation tonight or tomorrow early on to ensure that I get the forms in order. Maybe having some instructional material to pick through will help spur me to look for other things in the future that I may have something to listen to in future exercise sessions.

I'll need to do that soon, because I have the duty of escorting my parents to the airport tomorrow for their vacation.

Songs went pretty well today. I never remember quite how difficult Boundary becomes until I hit the last stretch and get creamed. Of course I manage to fail Max 300 and negate the gain.
