Years ago I used to browse these homepages that these computer clubs in Japanese elementary schools would put up to help the kids learn how to make web pages and to share their culture at the same time. My favorite was Toyano Elementary.

All the actual pages are gone now, but the web archive had some. Not all the links work, but a lot do. If you ever wanted an 11 year old Japanese kid to teach you how to eat cup ramen or explain bamboo that grows upside, it can be found here.

I remember going to Casa Bonita when I was very, very young during a trip to Colorado to see an Aunt. For many years after that I wrote off my vague memories of it as some fantastical dream, as surely such a place could not truly exist. I think it was an episode of South Park I saw that made me realize that, holy shit, that magical place I thought I had imagined was real, and it was called Casa Bonita.

Sadly, in all likelihood I'll not be able to leave my frigid Minnesotan command center to attend your party, but if your senses are keen you may find that my scent still lingers in the air as you celebrate.
