AC is pissing me off. I'm starting to come around to the idea that Slash might be better. #R surely is. Testament and Jam's combos are so ugly and long. Potemkin and May are uncalled for. Ground slides and wall sticks are not pleasing to the eye. There are too many character-specific combos.

Faust is really neat in this one, though.

That could work as a last resort if a developer has already patched a game to hell and back. I always thought mucking around with life bars was inelegant, though. SNK has managed to put out some balanced games with uniform character vitality.

Here is a spoiler-free criticism of Diabolique: the timing of the detective's appearance at the very, very end was too cute. It borders on deus ex machina and throws rocks at your suspended-precariously-from-a-treetop disbelief.

Definitely worth a look on Instant Watch if you like old school thrillers, though. It's not as stylized as Hitchcock, but shares the same pacing and principles as his stuff.
