Animal Crossing Online

at E3 this year, during an interview with Extended Play, Tezuka told them that the demand in japan for an Online Animal Crossing has been over whelming, and that it's something that's been taken into consideration.

so anyways, my question is, just how exactly do you think an Online Animal Crossing would work?

would it be the same, with the exception of being able to visits others town online? would it be one huge world that a bunch of people would live in? would all the A.I. be taken out of the game? would there be an online specific town with no A.I.?

who fuckin knows. one thing for sure, though, Nintendo has confirmed that they have multiple online games in development. what better way to get your feet wet then with Animal Crossing? i have no doubt in my mind that an Online Animal Crossing is in development.

anyways, share any idea's at all that you have for an Online Animal Crossing.

I wouldn't want my town online... by the second day, I would have no trees and holes all over the freaking place.

exactly. that's why i made this thread. for a game like Animal Crossing to go online, big changes would have to be made. atleast that's the way i see it, cause i can't really think of anyways to keep the game the same, yet make it online at the same time.

maybe online features will only go as far as writing letters, trading, and stuff like that.

I would like it if you could give certain people a password to live in your town, maybe allowing up to 16 people to live in one town, and then you all had to work together to fill out a town shop with rare items that other people buy when they come to your town. The more you're able to sell, the more money you get, and the more rare items appear in your town, more animals move in, etc.

Oh, and people from out of town can't do anything in your town other than talk to the animals and buy stuff. :)

It will be like PSO, where Nintendo sets up their own servers, with unique names, and each server houses hundreds of permanent towns. Each game comes with a unique code, which determines exactly what server you will play on. Each town will have, I dunno, somewhere along the lines of 25 or so house for humans, and 25 for the animals, or maybe no animals at all. Of course, there would have to be thousands of differnt servers. And all your info would be held on Nintendo's server, and not on your card.

How about betting on axe battles?

that's a good idea. but um, i don't know if i'd want so many people living in my town (unless that 16 includes A.I.).

still, using passwords just to be able to visit peoples town would be awesome.

maybe everyone could meet up at this huge train station and make arrangements to visit each others town. like a lobby or something.

If my town goes online, I want a 15 ft. fence with barbed wire and machine guns around it. Go ahead, dig that hole... :evil:

Very cool thread. I think your idea of a giant train station would be very cool. It would be cool if people were allowed into your town on the premise that they will not damage the town. But, if they were to get unruly then they can actually have something for Copper to do. Let him chase out or punish the bad(maybe by making them fix/plant new trees,etc)before they are allowed to leave. If they were to leave before they fixed it they would be locked out of that town for good. They should also give people a fenced in yard so you can have outdoor equipment too. Maybe have some of the town events between real people and have them track and field or Mario Party style to win prizes. Wow! The possibilities are endless.

oh man, i just had an awesome idea. what if there was flea markets every saturday, were everyone could just trade shit, of course, there would be a catch, $100 bell entrance fee, but that's only cause towards the end of the flea market, K.K. Slider takes the stage and plays a few songs for everyone.

now that would be awesome.
