Best/strangest pizza concoction

Inspired somewhat by the pancake/pizza battle below, I now post a corollary question that's worthy of it's own thread- what's the best custom pizza? Not so much favorite brand, but rather favorite personal mix of toppings. Admitted, place you get it from is as important as what's on there, but not so important as it being a unique favorite blend of your own.

Mine- Jerk chicken/bacon pizza with barbecue sauce and cheese. Damn tasty. I know of only one place I can order it from, Silly's in Portland ME. Seeing as I live here, life is good.

Pineapple + Pepperoni + Extra Cheese + Jalapeno pepper slices (sometimes) = good stuff.

Well, as I mentioned in the other thread...

I start out a pizza from this local place. It is thin, greasy, and costs way too much, but it does taiste good.

Anyway, just chees, cause meat doesnt go too well w/ the sweat stuff. Then I put on Strawberry's w/ syrup (as in what you would put on a shortcake) then top it off w/ a bit of whip cream.

Suprisingly good.

And again, really not on topic, but later on that night I found another good mix. I took a can of vanilla coke, sprayed some chocolate whip cream in it, then toook a drink. IT IS FANTASTIC. You have to put a spray of it on the opening very couple of drinks cause it will melt if you actually put it into the can.

Pepperoni and mushrooms.

Also, a place near uptown (Brasil, for the Houstonites) has a goat cheese and chicken pizza. Very good, though I've not been there in months (mainly due to the clientel, also due to a little place across the street called Empire Cafe being better overall...).

Bill Batemans Bistro in Severna Park, Maryland makes "Buffalo Pizza". Which tastes like buffalo wings, and comes with blu cheese dip.

I love it.

Who likes CORN on their pizza?

Screw Brasil and the Empire Cafe - overpriced bohemian cafes that are all image and no substance.

You want godly pizza in Houston? Head straight on HWY 59 towards downtown and then exit Travis St. Go straight on Travis street until you see the Houston Chronicle building and right across the street from that on you're right side will be a place called Frank's Pizza, (right next to it is the Cabo Wabo nightclub) - try going in the evenings, its less busy then. The pizza is godlike, just as Tracer if you don't believe me. I usually just get two slices (slices are huge like they should be - this is real pizza after all).

There is one of those paying parking lots right next to Frank's, you may have to pay 7 dollars for parking (its so expensive due to its close proximity within the city) - but I'd recommend paying just for the convience - if you're with friends you can split the parking fee and it won't be so bad. Whenever I go, usually with Tracer, we always sit upstairs in the corner table that looks like its reserved for Tony Spagoni and his cronies.


Also, the 2nd best place for pizza (and one that is easier to get too) is called New York Pizza - the one on Holocombe St. (just off Kirby) near the medical center. The restuarant is in this really unnoticable small shopping center and is next to radioshack. Directly across the street from New York Pizza is a Taco Bell and McDonalds (it should be easier to find it that way).

The atmospherre of the place is very low key and unpretentious, and the pizza is amazing (get sausage and pepperoni) - its better to get it by the slice (huge slices...even bigger than franks sometimes) - they're only 2.95 for a slice that is twice as big as a dinky pizza from Brasils. Oh and refillable fountain drinks!

You can order pizzas with Potato wedges on them here. I'm to scared to try that.

I agree that Pepperoni and Mushrooms = greatness but from Brazil? Ack! I tell, you - go to New York Pizzaria @ Holcombe & Greenbriar or Franks Pizza by the Slice on Travis & Preston St. downtown. I also agree with the clinetel bit (man - I almost NEVER agree with you) but I don't find Empire Café to be particularly better =/

In any case - Have you been to Agora? My place of choice to catch a pint of Duvel.

well i normally go with this little pizza place in dallas, you gotta get it with extra cheese and jerk chicken...that pizza is the best
but seeing as i'm only in dallas once a year i'd have to go with this pizza place i ate at last night called pizza palace, plain cheese....so good
