Use to watch it during its first couple months.
Pretty cool show, and Kirsten Kreuk is the hottest half European/half chinese chick out there.
I'm looking forward to watching that new WB show, 'Birds of Prey'.
I love this show. I've got the whole first season on VCD.
Umm. Can somebody give me a treatment of what this show is like? Is it like a soap opera? I didn't like Lois & Clark if that helps.
I don't own a TV, but if its good I'l buy the first season.
PS: I just read that you said VCD. So its not for sale I guess???
The shows is an Action/Drama, Each episode goes like this, Villian is introduce, Drama, Stop the Villian, Drama, then a forshadow of things to come.
Thats all...
I've been watching it recently, much better then Lois & Clark, I hated that show... yuck :p
So far it is pretty good, some better then others but not too bad overall... I especially liked this recent show since it had a wolf in it :D

I just got this on DVD a few days ago. Never saw an episode before, but good god, this is great stuff!
I try and catch it when I can. Its an awesome show.
Definitely a fun show to watch -
The best episodes are the ones that he uses/discovers his powers for the first time.
The episode where he first found out he had heat vision - by getting all turned on by his hot sex ed teacher , and just burning the front of the classroom up was funny as hell.Awesome stuff.
They definitely put a weird spin on the show with Lex Luthor as his best friend and Clark finding out that his real dad sent him to Earth to rule it like a king.
The season premiere is this wednesday.
Here's the plot:Clark becomes involved with a crime lord (Rutger Hauer) while under the influence of red kryptonite; Jonathan takes drastic measures to bring Clark home.
Exile Part 1 is the title
:lol:Quote:

As for Smallville it's really really good. I like the whole non Superhero take on it. If it manages to last eight seasons they could do a Superman spin-off though it's unlikely.
Season Two is even better. The stuff between Clark and Lex Luthor and Lionel Luthor make the series very, very fun to watch.Quote:

Yeah, I caught bits and pieces of 2, but I figured it'd be best to get a good foundation. I'm really impressed by this show, only 6 eps into it. Even though I shouldn't, I'm TOTALLY watching the season 3 premier on Wed.
Smallville was good times last night, anybody else catch it?
I missed it, do they still do a re-run on Sunday?... if so I'll try to catch it then :)
I saw it !! I was kinda really confused for a while, having missed the last two episodes of Season Two and all. Besides that, it was excellent stuff.
I am so glad that most episodes of Smallville (beginning somewhere around the end of Season One) step away from the monster-of-the-week style and instead go for main plot advancement - because that is where the fun is at :)
I saw it yesterday. Clark was very cool with the evil ring on. I was very surprised that Lex's wife set him up to die. I'm sure Lex is going to be pissed when he runs into her next week.
Caught the episode Wednesday as well -
It was kind of fun watching Clark rob the bank/catching bullets Matrix style/ and punching holes in ATM machines.
I was kind of disappointed in the ending or how it looks like they are going to wrap the story up -- I mean "super" Jonathan Kent  come on ...
And wasnt Clarks real dad (Jor-El) trying to get him to leave Smallville for good last season? Now he's helping the Kents to get Clark back? I guess Kryptonians are a really fickle and indecisive race...
I agree, the ending wasn't good. I really didn't buy that whole Jor-El power transfer thing at all. I believe that Jor-El instructions weren't really clear last season. Clark destoryed the ship before Jor-El could give him instructions. Jor-El may be helping kents for his own reason. I just can't beleive the AI (Jor-El) is poweful enouph to do all this.Quote:

At least I hope it is. The writers have been doing good over the last two seasons to all the sudden be so uncreative as to just have Pa Kent pound the red K ring off of Clark. There has to be other means of juking out a Superman , right? Lex Luthor has been doing it for decades it the comic books..
Why not let Kristin Kreuk flash the guy  and then just yank the ring off him ...
I've been watching it since the beginning and it's been pretty good so far. With the way they've had Lex for the longest I was wondering what could actually trun him into the dark person that he becomes in the comics. If what happened in the during the end of last season doesn't do it, I don't know what will.
I don't like how they are potentially presenting Lex as developing multiple personalities or something though.
In a way the corrupted AI thing could make since (except for the power transfer thing). Isn't that where Brainiac came from in the comics?
I don't think that' s the direction they're going. When we first see Lex in the seaon premiere, it's mentioned that he's in the pitch of a fever induced hallucination because of malaria. The 'alter-ego' guys says it to himQuote:

And I think a lot of you are jumping to conclusions about Pa Kent's new found powers and the storyline's suckage. While I'm sure what it looked like was actually so, we only saw, what, 1.5 seconds of him going ballistic. If there's anything this show has done consistently the last two seasons it's to set something up and give the viewers expectations of what might happen and then do something completely different with it. So I think it's a little early to say that the end of the show sucked, since there was barely anything there TO suck and because we don't know what's going to happen yet, so... This is one of the few shows I make sure to watch.
So... anybody wanna help me find season 2? :)
I am so tempted to pick this up on DVD, but I'm not sure. My wallet is already hit hard between Buffy, Angel, Babylon 5, and Alias, not to mention upcoming stuff like Firefly and I-still-need-to-buy stuff like 24 and South Park. I don't know if I can afford another show. Christ, especially one that I've never watched an episode of. Not sure if I can justify to myself that much of a blind-buy...
That's exactly what mine was. A Blind buy, and I love it.
I don't get why every superhero who was made famous by having integrity, being stoic and honorable and all that, has to be remade to angsty, angry, corruptable, and all that.
It sells, I know. But still...the Clark I read about was never like this.
I think it's meant to make the character look a little more realistic/human. If you've seen the show you should know that the Clark character still has integrity and honor (except for last Wednesday - when he was supervillian extrordinare thanks to the red K ring) but he wasnt born as this perfect Superman, so I think the writers are trying to show the path Clark took to get there.Same with the Lex Luthor character. Who the hell wouldve thought that Lex could be written to be a likeable guy, and a good friend to Clark. Should be fun to see how Lex turns into this evil bastard all Super fans love to hate...Quote:

Of course this storyline definitely wouldn't work in Smallville though.
God, did anyone see the latest Phoenix episode? It sucked monkey balls.
The best part about it was the Clark / Pa Kent fight surprisingly. They were duking it out pretty good for a while. I guess the Jor-El AI was testing Clark's parents to see if they were worthy for his son<shrugs> seeing as it and EVERYTHING (except for the Lex/Helen thing)else in the episode was not explained or wrapped up very well at all. |-)
So much stuff was not explained :Lana killing the guy in the barn [- WTF did the Kents do with the body] , Clark's last minute ripping off of the Kryptonite from his chest [they taped it with DUCT, FUCKING tape to his chest how can he NOT rip it off sooner ?], and Clark being a TOTAL non HETERO at the end of this episode...again...Get a clue writers ,we all saw the end of Spiderman the movie and it sucked - we dont need to see it over and over again at the end of this show.
<sigh> Not a good way to start off the third season - :yuck:
I thought it was alright.
Nothing overly special though.
I still liked the episode but I agree with your points. Especially at the end with Clark, what a fucking pussy for passing up the chance to hit it. Writers just love extending this shit, Clark should have told Lana by now about his superpowers.Quote:

It sucks that the writers are trying to squeeze every ounce of drama out of this shit, at the expense of the Clark characters integrity. It makes him look like a total dick every time he doesnt tell her - especially with her being on the brunt of all of his Red Kryptonite spaz outs.It worked out with Pete knowing why the hell not Lana? Stupid writers.... :yuck:Quote:

Last week's episode - You guys catch how when the "8" on Clark's chest dissappeared for good it faded to an "S" before it completely went away. It was there for like half a second, but it was a nice little touch.
Glad I'm not the only one who saw that...
Did anyone else know that Chloe is Lois Lane cousin?

Smallville just keeps getting better with every episode. The first season is almost throwaway at this point due to its fully episodic nature and real lack of anything to do with the overall story arc. I mean, there is some good stuff and a bit of back story in Season 1, but Season 2 and 3 are "TEH SHIZZLE."
Yeah, I cant believe I didnt piece it together sooner - especially when he mentioned that both of his parents died in a "fire". Right. And he met Lana in physical therapy, probably from getting his ass kicked during training/or fighting off some thugs or something. And last night when he came out of nowhere to save Chloe's ass. Later she asks him where he learned that Kung Fu- he was doing and he said " from watching too many Jackie Chan movies I guess" while giving Clark a funny ' I got a secret too bitch' look. Good stuff. Then he whips out his hacking/deducing skills and blames those on having too much free time in therapy/reading too much  . I dont know, this is a pretty good set-up to a Bruce Wayne character if there ever was going to be one in the show.Quote:

Newest episode thoughts:
I loved the "Superman death" sequence when the kid touched Clark. That was totally cool. Excellent episode all around. Smallville is smoking this season.
the ending was great as well, but I thought it was little to soon. Bruce wayne (If thats really him) is Adam Knight. The death scene was sweet, seeing the cap flowing among the stars.
You typed "cap" and I thought, "Jeez, what the hell did I miss?" Then I realized you meant cape. That was really, really cool how they did that. I thought it was interesting that he seemed to be flying toward the sun. Oh, and I'm not convinced the ending was for real, I mean, I know it happened for real, but I don't think it's the 'big one' yet. Of course I may be wrong.Quote:

But WTF doesnt everyone die in that kids visions :wtf:? And yeah, Clarks future vision was pretty sweet although I didnt take it to mean he would live forever - just that when he goes he's gonna go with a bang out in outerspace with his cape floating around...Quote:

Meh -- Okay I dont remember Bruce Wayne crying blood ever before , and I dont think he would threaten someones life like he did with Lana. I guess this Adam Knight character is just another jacked up freak of the month or something.
fucking writers.
interest in Knight character = 0
Anyway not a bad ep. Kinda messed up the way Pete was able to manipulate Clark to lie, cheat, steal, and kill for him. To hell with Pete , I wouldve been pissed at him too.....
Well, I for one as glad Bruce hasn't popped up yet. In fact, I'd prefer if it didn't pop up at all. Let them meet when they are grown up like it should be. Besides, what could the Dark Knight in training gain or learn in a place like Smallville?
I also agree that last nights episode was trash. The tacked on Velocity, and the fast cars just felt like gimmicks to take advantage of the popularity of street racing. Based on the preview, it looks like next weeks episode's not going to be much better. :(
Tonight's ep was good, of course we have some more of Clark and Lana beating around the bush, but Clark felt that he could really confide in that girl, sucks that she was a psycho. Did they say what happened to her after he covered her in lead paint?
It was alright. More 'freak of the week' stuff. It would have been more interesting if she stayed on for 3 or 4 shows. Especially if there were going to be more bedroom scenes.;)Quote:

I'm not sure how I feel about Adam Knight being sent by Lex's dad. Or, for that matter, 'brought back to life with Clark's blood' but we'll see I guess. They handle the big story arc stuff well, so maybe it'll be really cool how this all works out.
Meh, The Clark/ Lana shit is just really annoying me ....again. I dont know why he thinks its so hard to tell her and why she cant handle it. Pete is a perfect example....er....well...after he fucked up last week maybe he's not THE perfect example of how a good friend could keep and not take advantage of the secret, but still it's Lana and she's hot - he could be having a bedroom scene with her and not the psycho -- :D
And the whole Adam Knight thing is just 'Meh' with me too. I actually had a friend who thought it still could have been Bruce Wayne and that he just had 'roid rage in the scene with Lana last week.Guess not. Just another FOTW. How did he get back in Lionel's care though - Lex sell him out?
If Lionel SENT him there, I don't think it'd be a big deal for him to find him. Aside from the fact that Lionel has the serum to keep him alive. On a Luthor note, my LuthorCorp T-Shirt came today, hooray bad guys!
This episode was good. Adam Knight being a "Zombie" was a nice plot twist considering everyone thought he was Bruce Wayne.
:wtf: uhhh I dont know Megatron. I thought the whole plot involving Adam being one of the undead was a bit..well...uh stupid. I guess it couldve been worse though - he couldve been the ghost of a dead ex-evil vampire or something...Quote:

I doubt he follows through with it. I hope he doesn't. I like his, ummm, evilness..? If that's a word. I like how it was his own health that prompted the whole thing with Adam Knight. And I like how Lex seems to want to bring him down in a big way now.Quote:

This week's Episode was great. I love the ending where Lex tells the FBI agents he wants to bring down is father.
I think the writers were leading it along to being caused by that telephone line/pole that was struck by lightning and fell in the kryptonite while it was sparking and shit.Quote:

It's always because of the kryptonite.
I wish I had a TV. Smallville was a decent show and I can't wait for the episode where Clark flies.
Don't expect him to do that until like, the last episode or anything. I LOVE the show but the writers are being lame by just delaying the inevitable, once Clark has Lana it isn't automatically over because she would finally get to know him and why he was holding back while still being able to get into adventures with him.Quote:

I totally agree Will. I dont see why these writers think that Lana knowing his secret would ruin the show or why they think having Clark fly would ruin it. I think the Lana thing is just a cop out at the expense of the characters to build angst and drama. And having Clark fly would raise the budget but it would be cool as fuck to see.Especially since Clarks already confessed to being afraid of heights - I just want to see an episode of him flying through the fields, the barn, clouds whatever screaming like a little bitch :lol:Quote:

If they do make a "first flight" episode, they should pattern it after the Greatest American Hero, or at least pay homage and play the theme song. :D
I'm ready for him to go ahead an tell Lana too. Though it's going to be interesting to see if in the end all of his close friends figure out his Superman when he gets older. Surely it would be easy to put 2 & 2 together since he's done so much in Smallville and he doesn't even have the glasses now.
That's what I've been thinking pretty much since the first episode. It actually makes the Lex/Superman rivalry a little more complex since Lex would pretty much just see Supes as Clark dressed up in the suit.Quote:

Alright anyone still watching this?
I caught the episode last week with Christopher Reeve in it and thought it was kinda 'meh'. The dialogue in the scene with Clark and him in it made no sense to me for some reason and sounded like it was written and filmed a ways back before they knew what the plot of this episode was going to be.
Not really sure what the hell is gong on with Pa Kent and this Jor- El AI. I guess he made some kind of a promise to give his life up to it to get Clark back or something seeing as he's all depressed and shit in this episode.Im hoping that its not Jor-El and that its like Brainiac or something and we get to see an epic fight by the season finale. And I have no clue what the hell the ending meant or was supposed to entail.
So far the only thing still interesting in this show is watching the drama unfold between Lex Luthor and his dad Lionel , I see Lex getting Lionel thrown in prison and taking over the family business by season end.
Oh, heres a pic by Alex Ross that proves that once Smallville is over with Tom Welling needs to take the role of Superman in the next movie.Nicholas Cage as the next Superman...NAhhhh..
At about 8:51 the show screeches to a halt EVERY wednesday to have the obligatory 5 minutes of Lana and Clark beating around the bush.
Has anybody else noticed this?
Yeah. Its gay. Ive learned to ignore it - or just quit watching at the :51 mark. I honestly didnt think the writers would drag this shit out this long.
The next few episodes better be better than the last one. It was alright, but they sure took a leap of faith with their fans last week. It better get sewn up well or I'm going to start having my doubts about my fandom of this showing going into the 4th season. In fact, they better start covering the big picture stuff more. You know, Clark flying, his dad dying, him moving to Metropolis, him and Lex as arch enemies... I guess they realized going in though that they had to cover 4 years of high school, so they've stretched things out this far. Clark just needs to tell Lana what's up and then she needs to die a few episodes later. Then Clark can go into a rage and spin the world backwards and learn flight all in the same ep. Ooh, do I hear season finale?!
You forgot about Clark's trip to the North Pole, where he builds his Fortress of Solitude.
Official WB description for the last episode of the season:
A MYSTERIOUS GIRL FROM KRYPTON COMES TO TAKE CLARK HOME - Things come to a head in Smallville when Kara, a beautiful girl (guest star Adrianne Palicki) with superpowers, who claims to be from Krypton, comes to entice Clark (Tom Welling) to fulfill his destiny. Overwhelmed, Clark turns to his parents (John Schneider, Annette O'Toole) for advice but is shocked when Kara forces Jonathan to finally reveal the deal he made with Jor-El. Also, Clark makes a discovery that ultimately redefines his relationship with Lex (Michael Rosenbaum), and Clark's relationship with Lana (Kristin Kreuk) takes a final turn.
Pretty crazy, I didnt see this one coming, but at least the writers are throwing us a bone with another potentially kick-ass character from the comics showing up in the series.
Two words.
Well, Shit...
I'm not even going to read that, damn you. I will say this. I really liked last Wednesday's show with Chloe and the truth stuff; it made up for the previous week where they threw as many curve balls as possible. Whatever that spoiler says, I'm looking forward to the season finale.
Not a bad episode tonight, and from the Preview, it looks like we may be seeing some real progress with the plot in the next episode.
As far as Johnathan and Lana dieing though, that's not going to happen unless they completely disreguard the fact that both characters have been alive and well for a long time in the Superman comics (though technically DC isn't using Smallville as a core orgin story since they rescently redid Supermans origin in Superman Birthright. Clark and Lex still know each other, but the story of their childhood is much different than the one presented in Smallville.)
You read Superman Birthright? It's definitely among the better written Superman books I've read lately along with gorgeous art. The way the comic dealed with Lex and Clark's relationship was really cool, I'm really anxious to see how they would make Lex and Clark enemies or make them have a sort of a falling out.Quote:

I've skimmed a couple of issues at least. Got to see the one where I think Lex's dad died and Lex lost his hair.
One if the things I am interested in is Cloe and Pete. I don't think I remember them from any of the comics, and if that's so they could be wild cards. We don't know what might happen to either of them.
If the Lex/Clark relationship development goes well in these next few episodes, I think that I'll let the prolonged Clark/Lana angst slide.
