Future Dreamcast Greatest Hits

Sega announced they will re-release a series of Dreamcast hits in Japan at a low price of 3000 yen. Right now Sega is conducting a survey to see which games are most requested by users and then choose which ones to re-release. You can check the list from here, some of the game titles listed include:

Approximately halfway down the list (slightly above that exact halfway mark) is Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, followed by W Impact, and then Zero 3.

This list seems to be every game released on the DC, I saw Space Channel 5 Part 2, Ikaruga, and Samba De Amigo 2000. Good stuff, but so much to choose from...

I see Napple Tale. It starts with some Japanese but it says "Arsia in Daydream" in English. So you'll just have to look for it a little.

Look for stuff above the Street Fighter games ending in "II X" to find the Street Fighter Turbo and Puzzle Fighter games.

What is the point of re-releasing these games? You could probably get every single one of them for under 3000 yen now anyways.

Maybe you could say that you are supporting Sega when you buy one, but how many in Japan actually want to support Sega?

It would be even cooler if they re-released some of the hard to find DC games in the USA. My DC library is missing a few gems (namely GigaWing2 and CannonSpike) that I would love to get my hands on.

I wish I could say the phones were mine, but that pic is from UGA's site. I believe they shipped with the special edition in Japan, along with the Rez eyedrops.

And yeah, the trancevibrator was PS2 only, but bringing out a DC compatible version that plugged into the jump pack slot on the controller, or a spare controller slot, would be cool. A total pipe dream, but cool.

Yeah, they weren't subtle about the herbal tie-in. I've said before and I'll say it again, Rez was specifically designed to be played high. Everything about the game points straight to it.

They almost certainly won't make new covers. Every Dorikore-edition game that's been released so far has had packaging identical to the original, aside from a "Dorikore" sticker on the outer shrinkwrap.

The one I'm referring to is the DC version. I don't have a PS2 and therefore I have not had the chance to play the PS2 version.

well, like you said. "one is enough". and like i said, i disagree. if for some reason you own a PS2, but only have the Dreamcast version, then one is not enough. PS2 version is the way to go if you have the option. but i loooove Rez, so i have no problem owning more then one version of the game anyways.

Napple Tale needs to see a re-release. It's too good and too hard to find (although if you want to get a new one for $60 immediately, go here while it's still in stock).

#4 is Fushigi Dungeon Asuka's Side Quest. Some of us were discussing this game recently here.

While I do enjoy Napple Tale, and find it underrated even among people who bought the darn thing (because generally they lack the comprehension to really play it), I don't think it's really rare at all since it's always restocked at NCS.

Anyway, on the subject of a rerelease, Napple Tale seems the most unlikely and I wonder how on earth those polls are conducted. The last time I checked, Napple Tale had a little more than 6000 total sales. Six thousand. In a world where Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun (both darn niche) got around 20k, Sakura Taisen 3 gets 300k, and FFs get several million.

So if the stupid nihonjin didn't buy it then, why would they all of a sudden want it now? Methinks someone is just spamming the polls...

I doubt it. None of the DoriKore (Dreamcast Collection) games have differed from the original releases aside from a sticker on top of the plastic seal of the game.

There was different artwork for stuff like SNK fighters, but that was a Best release from the publisher themselves.
