I have now found someone who knows what he's doing to fix the thing. Unfortunately one screw is different and requires some sort of special screwdriver. Can anyone tell me where I can get one?

You can get one of the official sega battery packs, and plug the AC cord into that. It works just like if you'd plug it directly into the Nomad, and it charges at the same time. While they have generaly bad battery life (mine lasts about 40 minuites after a full charge), at east if you accidently unplug the cord your game doesn't die on you.
Be warned that the battery pack weighs like 8 oz. You need a "gamebit" (don't know if that's the official name) driver to open the nomad. I've yet to locate one myself and I've heard that some of them are too big around to fit into the hole leading to the nomad gamebit. Once you do get it out, replace it with a normal screw...less trouble in the future.Quote:

In this day and age, I'd say screw the hard to find and expensive Nomad battery pack and just go to any electronics store and pick up some good Nickle Metal-Hydride rechargable batteries. The last a good amount of time in the old battery suckers like the Nomad and Game Gear, and if they die on you they're only about 10 bucks to replace.

Go to www.lik-sang.com
I had the whole link to it, but it takes about 2 lines of page to type. Just enter the name gamebit in the search window and they have quite a few of the product available. Good Luck!
