Multiplayer Offline is pretty good. Its an excellent alternative to online play. Plus you can just yell at your friends whenever you want. Nothing like you and two teammates taking down a NanoDragon only to turn around and see your last teammate is getting gangraped by five Pal Sharks. :p
The ASCII keyboard joypad controller is so damn nice for the game. Not nearly as big as I thought it would be. I like the game, more of the same which is hardly a bad thing for me because I never touched ver.2 on Dreamcast. So relaxing.
Well just overall this game is pretty much Dreamcast Version 2 for EPS 1 and of course the new stuff in EPS II. Beware of the Dark Creatures in the Seabed Levels.
They will rape your ass if you're not cafeful. Mostly anyone who is level 21 and up can handle the 1st area of EPS II being the Jungle and whatnot but, The seabed is a whole new ballgame.
Even at Level 46 I was struggling not to get whacked.
eps 2.. is fucking hard... i got to eps 2.. dragon thing.. witha few people that got their befor e me.. they kicked our ass.. like nothing.. and i was playing with 3 good jap players...

I took on a bit of the first level of EpII through the Halloween quest (still haven't finished the VR yet) when I was about level 15 and didn't have too much trouble. Unfortunately, I ran out of meseta partway through and had to stop.
Kinda ticks me off about online play, since people can get farther then they would normally alone there tends to be more resurrection and telepiping then usual, which means I lose a ton of cash when low-level. I need some offline play to boost my cash reserves (it's so sad looking at how pathetically small my bank is, about 4000 compared to my DC bank of about 400,000).
Gongos and Rummy: Sorry about that, my net connection flatlined for no reason. Blah. Had to reset my damn modem.
I'm going for Level 60 by the end of the Day tommorrow. My goal is to hit Ultimate Mode which of course can be accessed at Level 80!

In case you didn't know. C-Mode can either be insane or easy to get through *Only if you don't totally suck* depending on the SECTION ID of the Person who creates the game.
I was asked to do this for reasons seeing as some of you know I'm a C mode bum, so I'll try to make this as easy as possible.
I'm sure there are a lot of points I'm going to miss but I'm sure those of you with bigger egos than mine will be happy to correct me.
Aight where to start. Challange Mode was originally divided into 46 Stages with a total of 9 Challanges Each.
The goal of course for each one is to make it to the end...alive.
Now a lot of people go into C mode and usually run into either a good or terrible map. Of course when I mean Map I mean in the effect of how many monsters show up in each section you enter and how many you have to kill to be able to enter the next area.
This is just from my personal experience and talking to others who do this so I will present the best ID's for each C mode that I think works well and quick to get you through with as little confrotation as possible.
CHALLANGE 1
Best Section ID's I have seen are either GREENIL or VIRIDA. S N K is virida and I cleared all the C-Mode games with him easy enough. This ID of course Yeilds very few Hildabears which in C1 is something you want to Avoid.
CHALLANGE 2 THRU 4.
God out of all the C modes I think I like C2 the least in sofar as the time it takes to get through this. The Only ID I've seen worth a lick here is ORAN seeing as Nano's seem to show not as often say if Fio who is REDRIA made the game and I'm finding like 8 to a room in one run.
REDRIA also ended up on C4 making a nasty mess of Pan Arms to deal with. That's always a load of fun dealing with those guys waiting for them to split up. Here's a tip tho I found out. When a Pan Arms does show up, Run a tight circle around them a few times and they will eventually split up and thus the beating can commence.
CHALLANGE 5 THRU 6
Ah yes the mines.
We all love the mines.
So far ORAN once again does well and I've seen a SKYLY come out of this mess well enough to be passable. The Main thing you want the least of course is Sinew Beats seeing as those guys make C5 a living hell.
C6 is tight enough as it is without having to do run around the Garanez's all damn day. Oh yes for those new to this concept when a Garenze shows up in a room.....
ALL OF YOU GET THE HELL OUT NOW. STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND RUN.
A single Garanze can literally end a C6 run in no time flat if people try to beat it senseless. Desinate a team leader and have them run circles around the stupid thing using it's own missles to damage it and nearby foes to make your job a lot easier.
Vol Opt you should also make sure you guys watch for the ceiling spikes and for god's sake don't run in circles around him from both directions seeing as getting crossed up is the last thing you want to do.
CHALLANGE 7 THRU 9
This of course is Ruins 1 thru 3 and of course Falz awaits you at the end of C9. This is probably as blunt as I can get.
You NEED a FORCE for the last two runs because if you don't, you will get O W N E D !
C7 can be done by 4 very good HUcasts seeing as I've done it that way before and tore C7 aparts with a good solid team. Of course the BEST section ID for C7 is YELLOWBOZE or PURPLENUM.
Oh & for the love a god when you see a Chaos Sorceror, Get either him or the Left Jewel out fast or a lot of people are going to be in a world of hurt seeing as he usually does a Rafoi right off the bat.
Not much else I can say but this mess is of course from my personal experience of playing C mode. I hope this helps you get your S ranks that I know each of you want so bad.

Now what this means people that with all this work you get to choose one of thirty different S Rank weapons. These things are strong as shit and can literally make your life a hell of a lot easier.
Getting a legit Spread Needle alone is worth the effort seeing as you can stomp the shit out of game with little effort with that weapon. Just a note about the Needle is that only forces are not permitted to use this cheeseball weapon.

Picked it up friday, I've got a level 30 Force now, finished ep 1 normal, made it to the last boss in ep 2, but his (spoilers, spoilers, etc) destroyed me, so I'll attempt that later.
I think I'm about ready to hop online. No keyboard, but I picked up the BBA. Character name is Bremen(space, space - dunno if the spaces matter for searches). If anyone wants to play, lemme know. I played the DC version a fair amount, but never online, so it'll be a new thing for me. Just need a keyboard :(
I'm pretty curious about Challenge mode, sounds like fun.
lol Well it indeed is fun that by the time me and the group of players that I hung out with on the Japan ships were done with it, We made it truly an Art Form.
I.E. For Later C Modes we desinagated a Mag feeder. If we had a Ranger in the group, the next time a new gun was found, the Ranger would give up the basic Handgun to a HUcast or HUmar so they can shoot stuff from a distance.
Overall there are some finer skill points to be learned but, I think the best lesson C-Mode teaches is the ability to truly fight skillfully.
If you can handle C Mode without much effort then the rest of the game is cake.
Oh and Teamwork is a must. Those of you who like running off and doing your own thing can fucking forget it.
Either work as a team or go find someone else's time to waste.

1. were there any connectivity issues w/ the network adapter for you guys? I plan on connecting it to my computer's shared internet connection through an on-board NIC, and later through a router that connects to my computer's NIC..
i'm using an external USB DSL modem..
2. how much better is this over DC's PSO? I loved the original, but why should i bother with this? Any specific improvements?
3. Do you guys all have keyboards, and if so, where the hell are you getting them from? None of the stores in my area have them.. should they?

johnk - I haven't had any issues with the bba yet. All I had to do was plug it in and so far it's been just lovely. Dunno how it's been treating everyone else.
There's a lot more to do than DC PSO ver. 1. Dunno how it compares to ver 2, but the new Episode 2 levels are gorgeous. Anyone know how many there are? Jungle and seaside aren't the only new levels, are they? (The VR levels don't really count.)

Almost done with the quests on normal, so I can check what the Rappy Wing makes. I'm guessing a Slicer of some type. I'd probably have finished them, but I got caught up in Hard mode, and cleared through the Ruins. I need to stop and go goof around for awhile though, I'm finding items with a level req of 51, and my Force is only 39 :)
Guess I'll go complete the quests to check the wing, get the pan and the soul eater, then go gawk at episode 2 some more. Maybe do a few Hard runs to build up more goodies and experience.
Anyone else enjoying the plethora of rares? I've seen FOUR unique enemies, which is more than I saw in 100+ hours of the DC version, and I've already got a nice stack of rare stuff sitting in the bank. Pretty cool.

Ok dammit my frustration is reaching its limits with some of these n00bs so when we play C Mode tonight I want you to follow my directions on this.
I'm serious don't fuck around with this or we'll lose the challange!
Ok
CHALLANGE 01
This is comprised of Forest 1,2 & Dragon. Our Goal as always on C Mode is to make it to the end with the best time possible. I don't know if I stressed this enough but to get an S Rank you have to beat All 9 Challanges in under 7 HOURS!!
With that in mind remember that speed is the key as well as skill. Onto C1
#1) From Starting Point Head Left.
#2) Kill all monsters in room then advance to next room.
#3) Kill all the monsters in this room and advance to the next.
#4 Ok this is where some of you royally fuck it up. In this room only ONE PERSON WILL STAY.
When all of us enter there is a stack of boxes on the left. I don't care whoever but someone has to stand on the button for a few seconds to open the barrier on the wall.
One person runs in, presses the button and then here's the kicker, All of you expect for the one person stop fighting and leave.
Head back to the previous room and head to the right were a Large object was blocking a Warp. Head in and Fight all the monsters and after that ONLY ONE PERSON will advance through the gate to flip the switch.
The others will head to the locked door and wait there for it to open by the other person who was told to wait in the previous room. I.E. when we kill all the monsters in that mess and flip the switch, The locked door where next the barriers will open once the switcxh is hit.
Once that is hit the 1st person will advance in and hit the switch to open the door the rest of us are waiting at. After that person opens the door for us, he/she should advance on ahead to the next room and hit the barrier gate switch and then RUN back to the previous room to go onto Forest 2 by that time the rest of us should be right behind you.
This should take no more than 5 minutes total guys!
Forest 2
This is pretty straight foward. Head Straight from starting point and heading down kill all monsters. From there advance the long path and kill all monsters.
From that point, head left and kill all the monsters again. Ok once again a serious fuck up point is here. One person will stand on the button to open the gate once all the monsters are killed while only ONE PERSON will go through and take the warp.
To the person taking the warp, Don't take the warp in front of you! turn around and hit the one behind you, hit the switch and then take the warp to head to the upper dome section
Fight and kill all monsters again everyone and then finally advance to the Dragon and take him out. If you've fought the Dragon enough times, you should know how not to die.
We should all at least be Level 3 doing this run so if you're level 2 then you're either slacking or need to make sure you don't get hit.
Remember also Don't stand under the fucking dragon when he dies or he will crush and kill you and finally you only have one scape doll each so try to remember that and save it for not getting killed!
Any time over 15 minutes will be ass in my eyes. So remember to back each other up and don't run the fuck off on your own in a fight. Keep together and you will win.

Got an error screen when I tried to connect, so I turned off the GC and went to check the ethernet cable. It was slightly unplugged. Guess someone tripped on it or somethin'. Plugged it back in, turned the game back on, and got a lovely "Your data is corrupt. It will now be killed!@" screen. Oy. Ok guys I apologize for not getting things worked out like I wanted due to me having a few problems I ran into IRL.
Overall tho it was a great turnout. Here's my review so far of the people I worked with.
Goatse = Good Player Shows Great promise.
Lucas = Good Player needs to be a bit patient but overall solid
gongos = Very damn good player! I give you props for working with a Force like that.
Maruchan = Not bad but damn man you cost us 2 fucking minutes on C1 when you ran off into the wrong warp. 2 minutes! I was so ready to strangle you!:mad:
Anyone else I've played with here so far I've been pleased with. I apologize if I seem to be a bit fast in my games. Gongos yes I know all the map varations of EPS 1 by Heart hence we got the Falz in no time flat because I only need to see 2 rooms once I'm down there to know excatly what the pattern is. :D

We beat Del Rol Le last night (16lv Ramar, 11lv Hunewearl).
It didn't open up the next stage though.
Is there another boss we have to fight in the Caves or is there some other "trigger" we need to find to continue?
We haven't went back into the stage to check yet, but I figured I'd ask 'cause I'm sitting at work and I'm curious.

Jesus Maru I'm sorry you didn't get exp for that but that Force kept dying and made me use up all my Moons.
Here's a tip for Team support Maru. Carry 10 Moons on you at all times. When I'm nearly out, Drop 5 so I can keep everyone else alive.

It's no big deal Maru it's a combination of playing Challange and my Levels which helped me out. Granted I kept everyone alive more often then not but rest assured when you get around to my Level you can do the same.

No real exciting progress, but we're still loving us up some PSO.
I hit level 11 tonight. Not bad for a bit over 24 hours of owning the game. Next week I will live PSO.

Whoever is a ranger might want this but i have a request in so far as I'm looking for a Last Survivor or a Blade Dance to trade this bad boy. The weapon has to have 0%'s at least for me to agree to a trade.
Either way keep it real guys and work on those Levels!

Vega 07-01Will be the Official Challange Block for TNL.
I'm trying to relocate that old Dreamcast Version 2 C Mode faq seeing as it's virtually the same on the Gamecube. The key point of C Mode for me is 2 things.
To get my freak S Rank Spread Needle and to be one of the 1st on the U.S. Gamecube version to have the Rank of BU-EI meaning all 9 Challanges were defeated.
See you guys soon oh and a general rule of thumb is that I don't want everyone to be too dependant on me for challange. If you think you can help someone on Challange 01 seeing as some of you have done it with me already, help them get their 1st ranking.
If will benifit both of you for that person will of course get their ranking and you will be able to polish your game a lot better so that by the time you make it to challange 09, you'll pass that with flying colors. :)

lol Well make sure she knows she's going to be playing with a pro. I eat PSO Scrubs for Breakfast so try to hit Level 20 so you can play Hard Mode online so I can at least cut loose on the monsters seeing as I'm at the point of one hit kills in normal mode. ;)Quote:
