To clarify:
When playing offline, you have to have beaten Normal mode offline to select Hard mode.
If someone else starts a game online in Hard mode, you can join it, regardless of your progress in single player, as long as you are at least lv.20. I believe same goes for starting your own games. Ie: if you are lv.20, you can start a Hard game whether or not you have beaten Normal offline.
V-Hard = lv.40
Ulti = lv.80
Same rules apply to offline multiplayer. I however am not sure if you are allowed to start a Hard game online if you are less than lv.20, even if you've beaten Normal mode offline, but most people are past lv.20 when they finish offline Normal anyway.

lol Yeah I had no problems with you at all. You keep up that work as a Force and I might be inspired to try one. Money can be a bitch but I've found the best way to handle a cash shortage is to go offline and do some EPS 1 gaming and pick up all the weapons/Armor you can find and sell it.Quote:

I can make about 250,000 Meseta in a Forest/Caves V Hard run easy. You just gotta remember that it may be a stupid weapon or sheild but it does help.
I'm glad you had fun. I usually try and play reserved with new players to EPS II but I personally would suggest that you don't get too cocky until your levels are high enough to smack Olga Flow.Quote:

This used to happen on the DC Version so don't pay it no mind. It usually takes an hour at the most and things are peachy keen.
Usually when they are doing something like this, expect a new quest or something nice to show up for the update. :)
Yea, I know...but I thought it was funny that the "line was busy" when i have the BBA. But then again, I think it said the same thing on the DC version with the BBA.

It would appear Rappy's Wing makes a Rappy Fan, a rather nice Slicer. Hildebear's Head still makes the Hildebear Cane, which has a nice 35 point MST boost, plus it boosts Foie, AND it casts free Foie as a special.
Up to 54 now, was mucking around in Very Hard ruins, leveling up to get on to Ultimate.
OK, this is twice now, and I hate it.
My DSL provider (at least, I'm gonna assume it's my DSL) has this fun habit of cutting out on me at times FOR NO REASON. I was playing a game a little bit ago in Vega 05 online, and my game disconnected, right at the end of the quest I was on.
Now, I'm staring at a black screen.
See, I don't mind so much when it disconnects me and returns me to the title screen, but when it disconnects me a makes me look at a black screen I hate it.
The first time this happened, I reset the machine, and I lost any item I didn't have equipped. I don't wanna lose all my stuff right now, so I'll let it sit for now to see if anything happens.
Anyone know how long I have to wait, or any possible solutions?
Welcome to the BSoD. That sucks. This has only ever happened to me once on the DC version...except that my screen was a pretty shade of blue, not black.

Just finished a five hour offline multiplay session with some friends. Thats probably the longest amount of time I've had my gamecube on. We ended up quiting because my Wavebird batteries actually ran out of juice! It was damn funny cause I just plain stopped trying to get to the otherside of the room to help my friends. I thought some enemy completely paralyzed me andd it took me about a minute to realize the wavebird died. My friends just cleared the room by themselves and then we just quit.
Its just plain crazy and fun all in one....
Did you catch what damage that swipe was doing Kun? Friend and I just toasted Very Hard Falz at level 61 (me) and 62 (him), but he *BARELY* survived the swipe from the last form, and the thunderblast from the first and second forms. It waxed me completely. We checked it afterwards (we were playing splitscreen), he has about 466 hp, I have 336 (:/). I'm guessing its 450 or so for the swipe (he had barely a sliver left when he stood up), but I'm wondering if its toned down when you aren't playing multi.
Otherwise, I'm gonna have to go to 70 to get to Ultimate :/ I'd like to go in there now, I'm roasting stuff as it is.
On the other hand, I may try to go take him out now at 61, and just bring a stack of HP units and Scape Dolls... :D
I had 504 HP when I took him on. The light or Grants as it's called was't as bad as that swipe.
Oh yeah and just beat Forest Ultimate Mode by taking down the Sil Dragon. He's still as fast as I remember him.

The thunder (or whatever it is, it resembles Pillas attack the most, but we tested max Lightning resistance and it did nothing, nor did Light resist) was blasting both of us nearly to death, much like his swipe.
I'll have to go check him in single player, see if the damage is reduced I suppose...

Yeah that attack can be downright nasty. I'd forgotten about that attack because on lower level characters it can be their death knoll!

Hey! I'm now level 31 and my guy no longer dies in one hit :) But thanks to borrowing a high mind MAG, I have tons of high level spells equipped and can hold my own in Hard. Foie 12, Zonde, Gizonde 12, etc. I still have a hard time collecting enough $$$ to restock on fluids, and those spells drain your TP like whoa! If anybody wants to make a run through Hard mode tonight, PM me or look for NISMO the weakest FOmar ever ;)
Oh, I think it's really cool to go all out support. I use nothing but Shifta/Deband, Resta, Zalure/Jellen and whatnot. It gets you EXP and makes the enemies easier to kill for the HUmars.

yah hard for me is a breeze.. hell.. the last couple of battles playing with 30+ people.. i had to take controlm, they keepet on dying.. and beat them..:p

Heh I know what you mean. That's why I usually choose a Section ID I can live with so I can at least get stuff I can use.
Oh yeah I finally got my Yamato grinded to max. The thing hits a +60 before I can't stuff it anymore.
Also did a fusion for someone on a sheild so that works out pretty nice as well. :)
Guys, when creating a new character, go to Ragol.com and go to the section ID generator.
Put in your name ie. "Korly" and if it's not the ID you want, try going "Korly II" "Korly 2K" "Korly III" "Korly IV" etc.
Then, you'll get the ID you want.
Viridia gets nothing but big guns and stuff that Forces can't use :( I wish I was yelloboze to get lots of $$$ to buy all the fluids I need.

Could somebody break down how experience works in multiplayer?
Another way to play with your section ID is to put spaces after your name. My Force is Bremen(spacespace), which gives him Pinkal, without having to mess with alternate spellings or the like. Good if there's a certain name you want, but not the id you want.
And yes, do a little research on the types of weapons an ID gets before you commit your character. A Pinkal Hunter would make you :(

I actually found a freaking VAYJA so I'm happy as heck about it. Also scored a Brinoc with %'s which makes me even more happy.

Sorry for disappearing today, BK, silly internet hiccuped and then I decided to do all the offline quests so I could get the frying pan and the soul eater. All I can say is, dang, I didn't expect there to be so many quests, and the one with Elenor and Ult.. :sweat: Was that originally where the banned Elenor's mag came from? Cause I swear the reward should have been a ton better for all the trouble I went through, I actually had to quit out and restart the quest because I didn't figure out the part where you break the rocks and was running out of time, though the second time I did it, it was a breeze. It actually took me from the time I left the team we were in to about 5:30AM CST to complete every single quest perfectly to unlock those two quests for the frying pan and soul eater.
On a side note, there is a rumor going around about a telepipe trick and rare mobs, where you find a gathering of say, rappies, the ones that fall from the sky, then teleport in and out until a rare one, like an Al, or Pal rappy spawns, apparently works too, though takes some time and patience, (which I have little of) so I can't verify if it works or not.
Anyway, sleepy time for me, I am so looking forward to getting up and getting the soul eater and the frying pan. *cheer* :D Oh yeah, and level 60 hopefully. (=

What strikes me as odd is that I can't equip them. I mean, I'm a freakin' Ranger, and I can't use a gun. Whassup wit dat?

Incidently, I had 469 hp with the units equipped, so all you other Forces who want to tackle him somewhat early, keep that in mind. HP mats are your friend :)

Anyone know what secret gear is, besides for a fancy barrier, it just seems kinda suspicious; found it off of a gilchic in the mines on hard, and it does some weird stats if I equip it.
Just seems to be a really nice defensive item. Compare the defense rating to any other shields you have around. The resists and evade are soso, but for any class that can't dodge anyway, its a good item.
Is online laggy as all heck for anyone else? I never had a problem on the DC, but Ep I & II has been trouble. Team mates disappearing and reappearing, item drops taking forever to appear, disconnections...Arr, it's driving me nuts.

I decided to brush up on my C Mode game so me and a RAcast did C2 & C3 back to back.
We both cleaned and stomped the crap out of both of em. Kinda funny but the RAcast said I was the best player he had seen saying that everyone else he played with usually died.
I do have a serious confession to make. C Mode is now pussfied! I mean it guys. It's a shitload easier than what was on the Dreamcast Version.
When I'm finding Weapons with a 90% A Beast with a 70% Hit rate, You know something the fuck is up.
Damn I was cutting through monsters like a hot knife through butter.

level 16+ techs are rediculously cool. I hit 80 and cleared down through ultimate mines, picking up high level techs left and right - the new rafoie is awesome, looks like a nuclear explosion :) now I can get online and do ult with other people too.
if any younger forces need some techs, please let me know, I'm not even picking the lower level ones up right now.

Is there a certain quest you have to do to unlock them? I haven't completed all the quests yet so if thats what it is, cool.
Also, it says something in the manual about "the GBA games are available offline or online, but require a GBA -> GC link cable to play".

Thursday is the big C Mode day. Starting Late thursday night & all day friday I will be breaking into C Mode now that I finally have my Keyboard coming.
Generally for the moment the Challanges open at this time are as follows...
Challange 01
Forest 1, Forest 2, & Dragon Aeras 1 thru 3
Challange 02
This is comprised of Caves 1. This will be a run over & over of caves one in many varations and patterns. There are a few minor shortcuts that can shave this run in no time. This will be areas 4 thur 8
Challange 03
This is of course Caves 2 and follows the same ideals as Caves 1. There are some serious Teamwork points which will require you to be standing and moving around odd places.
This of course is Areas 9 thru 13
Challange 04
This requires an honest team of 4 players to get a good time. We will be splitting up a lot in this Challange and there will be points where a chunk of it will be only 2 people per room. At the end of the challange is of course Del Rol.
To those of you who are Hunters: Do NOT attack the head. If you have a SWORD just go for the ribs. Also whoever the worm targets with the tentacle, move away from everyone else and let them work on hacking the damn thing while you are avoiding getting hit.
So far Challanges 5 thru 9 are not online yet but they will be soon.

I've been home sick today, and I've been playing offline since 10:15am.
I found a LOT of cool shit, and I gained about 3 levels and I beat MInes V-Hard, and I was at Ruins 3 V-Hard.
Then, some maintenance guys came to my apartment to fix the window, stepped on a bunch of wires, and unplugged the GC while I was playing.
2.5 hours of work (and 6 rares) lost.

From what I've read PSO for both GC/xbox is an emulated version of the DC games running on the new systems (ie. not recoded from the ground up for each respective system).
Following that line of thinking, it would seem like the xbox version will have the same bugs/problems as the GC rev.
Are you using a 251 memory card? I read the compression can mess up online play something fierce.

I have never had this problem hit me at all so something you have is not running properly. You should start addressing some faults with your equipment/power.

The Xbox version had to have some changes done in order to add support for the friend tracking, so I doubt they're using 100% of the GC code. Then again, Sonic Team has been of questionable quality as of late and it would not shock me if the Xbox version of PSO is more fucked up than burned ice cream in one way or another.
I'm still looking forward to the Xbox version because typing with that make believe keyboard is pissing me off. If one more damn person hotkeys "Shifta/Deband", "Revive Me", or "Who gots rare 4 TrADe?" and keeps flashing it over and over I'm going to scream.

I agree, offline multiplayer mode makes me dizzy! @_@ I tried it with my roommate and I can't stand it though I do have one use for it..
I experimented with the episode two mags that I heard about and after one failure, due to a slight misunderstanding in the stat ratio, I have finally created an episode two mag which is actually a yellow (rare) item. I plan on making one of each types, and will take requests, though I get the first sato I make.. ;D The use I have for offline multiplayer is when the mag is level 99 I do a hand off to the appropriate character type to feed it one more time to make the finished rare mag. (Note, after the mag has evolved into the rare mag type at 100, it will not de-evolve back into another type of mag if you feed it, like a normal mag will; I tested this immediatelly, as I need a mag with power and defense, more than the basically even stats you need to get this sort of evolution.)

Though you might want to look fast and or print out the information as this site is apparently going to be gone soon.
Note on the mag creation, the stats /have/ to be even, this is where I messed up because I didn't understand; When it says def + pow = dex + mind, it means you need to set defense to 30, power to 20, dex to 30 and mind to 20, so it would be like 30/20/30/20 to get the mag to evolve right at level 100.
I made a nidra this morning and I am very happy with the results, it is a very cute mag. *beams*
On a side note, Korly, buy a new memory card and transfer your character over to it, I do believe you can do that, though not sure how exactly as we just got the GC the day PSO came out.

Kitten, there doesn't seem to be a way to transfer my character, but if you find a way, let me know.
Do this.
You need 2 Memory cards and 2 controllers.
Go into Multiplayer Mode and load up your character from the other card and port it onto the new one. I would make a 'Dummy' Character on the new Card so the gamecube can reconize the file.
After that when you quit it will ask you if you want to send your character back to the previous card. Say NO and it should just copy it over and leave it on the new card.
I havn't done this but I can see that as the only viable option to get away with it.

The way I made a backup of my other char on the dreamcast was I bought the CD to surf the net on the dreamcast, then uploaded my character to my site, then downloaded it again to another memory cartridge.
Not sure if they have enabled the ability to surf the net with the gamecube, but since it is internet able, I really don't see why not, seems like it would be a waste of good machinery if all you could do is use it to play PSO, hee. (=

How is this 56k? Someone probably already asked this, but I dont want to look through the whole thread. Does it lag with 56 or is there less options or features. Please fill in. Also, is there a monthly access fee?

lol Speakiong of Rare shit, I scored a Red Phoenix from capping a PAL RAPPY in Ultimate forest.
It's got one gold star and it's the 1st time I've ever even seen the thing by anyone. Ranger Class Weapon so I'm deciding what I should do with it.
are gold stars rare...? my branch of paku paku.. is 9 blue stars.. and the last star is gold.. what those that mean..
and can a Ramarl use it... and what you want for some kind of relaly rare sword. you dont have...? and other crap...
Generally, nine star items are the 'common' rares. eg, for any given section Id, you'll find basically all of the 'common' 9 star rares if you play a fair amount (my pinkal has a bank full of clubs of laconium, maces of adaman, agni/dagon/indra, etc)
the 10+ star items are 'true' rares, in that you aren't going to wind up with a bank full of them, for the most part. I still have yet to see an 11 or 12 star item, but I've been winding down, not playing as much since I hit ultimate
Well as of tonight in a full team.
I hit Level 100 Killing Olga Flow in Verh Hard mode. Jesus H Christ never have I had to fight so hard trying to kill this guy!
He dropped dead and I finally cleared the 1st hurdle.
Level 200 here I come once again.....:D :D :D

Nothing to excited on the PSO front by me.
Started a FOmar and thats about it.
152 Hours overall I did a lot of BSing around before I did that. I also scored a Guard Wave so I'm kickin it with that. :)
Discoveries...Discoveries....
Along with a much needed bump I have come across something real dirty.
Now for those of you working your way to Ultimate Mode I should inform you of a funny yet useful trick for scoring mad rares. I wasn't aware of how easy this was until a guy I met online, *Who I've been training in C Mode* told me about this trick of sorts.\
No some of you may know and some of you don't but when you finally enter Ultimate Mode, all the monsters are gone that you saw in V Hard on down and replaced with new ones which are bigger, faster and do an assload more damage.
There are a select few which stayed the same but for the most part you can pretty much surmise that you're going to get your butt kicked.
Moving on to the subject at hand tho I was made aware of a Quest I remembered called 'Fake in Yellow'.
Now what this quest is generally about is you looking for a doctor who had gone down to Ragol to study a certain lifeform that he became very intrested in. Well of course it turns out the ole doc has a Mad-On for Rappies.
What does this mean? That to find him you're going to have to pound your way through hordes and hords of Rappies or the Badazz Rappies in Version 2 aptly named EL RAPPY!
Now I've noticed this myself that Rare monsters have shown up more often than not in PSO on the Gamecube and thus this gives you a chance to get ahold of rares a lot faster seeing as it seems to be a rule of thumb that any rare monster you kill gives you a nice rare Weapon/Armor/part ect ect.
The most common Rare monster is of course...The Pal Rappy. These look just about the same as the normal ones only they are kinda rainbow colored and generally are a bit stringer and harder to kill.
There have been of course Blue Rappies which I'm sure a lot of you have seen like AL Rappies, Rare Monsters such as the Hidlatorr, Hildablue, Nar Lilly ect ect are something that will usually pay out nicly for those of you just bumming around.
In general tho I went back to try that quest in Ultimate and smacked the crap out of 2 Pal Rappies in the same game. One coughed up a Red Photon Cannon Rare and the other coughed up a Guard Wave which is Level 101 Armor which of course is more badass than anything I own in my stock right now.
Lesson?
Work on those quests that have an unusal count of monsters above the norm seeing as more rares are now popping up in these quests. It used to be you'd only find decent common crap in DC Version 2 but this time it seems that Sega fixed that annoyance as well. :)
