I've played THPS4 extensively for both GCN and PS2. The GCN version has wicked chunky slowdown and the PS2 version does not. Which stinks for me because I prefer to give my money to Nintendo if a game that I desire will be released on all major platforms. So now I must sell my GCN version and buy the PS2 one.

LOL, I just read the actual contents of this thread. I would like to suggest an optometrist for anyone who was unable to see the HEINOUS slowdown throughout THPS 3 on PS2 and GCN.
Have you played the Xbox version Pa?
I like Contra :HC more than Contra 3 , but Bloodlines doesn't even come close to Castlevania 4.It's still a great game though.Quote:

Heh, you know me man. Still a "hater" ;o) I'd love to though and I still cling to my copy of 2X for that shining day that the XBOX presents me with a "killer app". My money says it'll be Orta, but we'll see.
Can anyone tell me the differences between Black Matrix on Saturn and Black Matrix AD on the DC? I hear that the DC one has a bit more FMV and some remixing of the environments but the game is really the same. What I really want to know: Did the loadtimes get any improvement? The SS version takes days....

Some of the tracks in the TH games are downright awful. The track selection seems to have been made with a pair of dice and good intentions. I'll take the option of creating my own soundtrack, thank you. Playing TH 2X ,3, and 4 with tunes from JGR and JSRF, as well as any song you want to rip to the HD is hella better than some generic soundtrack filled with the requisite punk and ska songs developers think EVERY sports game must have.Quote:

:wtf: Umm, what? Castlevania 4 on SNES is a work of art, my friend. The music, classic Castlevania gameplay, special effects. It's all good. I'd have to say that I love both Contra 3 and Hard Corps equally. Any good 2D Contra game is never one too many. :D
How were the psx/saturn versions of EWJ?
I don't know about any other, but the Saturn version of EWJ 2 was awesome. Great music, graphics and parallax, and the dreamy Saturn pad. :) I'm currently looking for a copy.
Castlvania 4 had the "classic" Castlevania gameplay? What game did you play, I played the easy one where you can 8 way whip. In terms of true to the original NES games' gameplay Bloodlines is far closer. I think people really don't judge 4 objectively, because at the time the game came out the music and mode 7 rotation stuff was so unbelievable. Look back on it now though, the gameplay really isn't as good as Bloodlines.
