Steel Battalion questions

I put up these questions on the official thread, but they went unanswered (well, one anyways) so I figured I'd make a thread. I want to pre-order the game next week when I get RAD and Substance, but I need some questions answered before taking the plunge-
1- You can hook an extension cable to the controller, right? I'm sure you can, but I just want to make extra sure because the game costs so much. 88mph said the cord is only 16 inches, and thats way too short for my needs.
2- Anyone have a link or know off the top of their head as to what are the controllers dimensions and weight (including the footpedals)?

A user on gamefaqs.com has posted the info you need as far as dimension and weight goes, but I don't recall anything about cord length. Anyway, it's in the faqs and guides section, and comes at the end of his walkthrough.
I have the game preorderd, but am a little concerned after reading OXM's not quite a preview, not quite a review (something like that)evaluation in the December issue. Usually you can count on OXM to gush over games, but they seem peculiarly sedate about SB. They said something to the effect that the controller is fabulous, yet the game itself is not so ambitious.

P.S. Does Mike Salmon irritate anyone else? Why is he so determined to prove his coolness? Maybe I'm missing the sarcasm in his profiles and editorials, but give me a break with the booze and stud act.

Well I will never buy this game(at that price at least) but I am looking forward to the rest of you guys impressions of it, it really does seem like a cool game, I just got too much on my list as it is with Live and all

I don't have the dimensions of the cord, but one review said it was plenty long. Since it plugs into the standard controller slot, I see no reason why you couldn't use an extension, however.

In precise terms, the actual dimension of the controller can be expressed as being, "really, really huge." And the weight can best be described as "heavy as a bastard."

Actually, I don't know the precise measurements, but I think the review linked in the other thread mentioned it being nearly five feet across.

Hi Green if I were you I'd put more than $5 dollars down since you seem like your interested in it enough. i'd hate to see you miss out since a employee's word may be good there can always be some mis-communication.

Just a thought...

I heard that the cord was longer than the regular Xbox controller cord, and that the controller was 3 feet wide and didn't actually weigh that much for something of such proportions.
