Gunbird 2!

Just a quick update...

494,000 - James_Pond / Marion 1-5

Finally beat 1-4 boss a couple of times and got some consistency going and I'm finally top 10 material, my challenge continues...

oops... yeah. ahem. Stage is 1-4.

My DSL is going down for two weeks (DirecTV DSL) while it switches to another one, so all my sites are down. Heck, I'm on this lousy 56k connection, myself... :mad:

I put my Gunbird 2 stuff on WinMX (maybe I should get KaZaA too?), so when this unpleasantness is over, they should be up for download.

As for my 1-6 guide... I've written everything up except for the boss. There are a lot of split-second dodges to make, and sometimes I just think to myself that it would be easier and more entertaining to see a video clip, so I don't know when I'll get to that.

So... I'm curious. Why is it that Morrigan isn't showing up more on the list? i KNOW it's because people aren't using her as much... but why not? Triple Lei likes (nay, insists on) Marion. Alucard was in Mode7's Gunbird 2 guide as being for advanced players... Valpie= good beginner, Tavia=Well-liked by the untrained. (used to love her, went back and played as her today.... and not to say I'm all that great at the game, but I really can't stand Tavia anymore... )

I used to just really like the game, but ever since I started using Morrigan, I love the game. The only other characters I even goof around with anymore are Marion and Aine. Morrigan's sole weakness seems to be in bombing. The bombs are only good as a panic button, clearing bullets, as they aren't very strong (and no good bonuses like Marion or Aine). But her overall strength with the close range attack (really powerful and wide) and fire means you won't need it very often.

Don't question it too much, it just makes us seem more original.

I don't think so. Morrigan's a little too fast for me, and I prefer Tavia's strong focused shot and punch move. Bombing is about knowing when to use them, so the lack of a fail safe instant bomb isn't important. She requires you to dodge a bit more perhaps, but overall she's the best character for the way I play.

Morrigan is an exclusive character in the Dreamcast
version. I've been playing Gunbird 2 only in the arcade, so
I could never use her.

Err, that's my guide. Mode7 uses Marion.

Doesn't Triple Lei have a guide, though, that touts Marion as being *the only character*? Or is that someone else's guide he posted on his web site?
So, do you just not use Tavia's close attack very much, then? Also, doesn't the fact that Tavia's strength is her shot, and that it doesn't have a homing componenent, make getting higher scores more difficult? Or is it just a matter of planning?
Having to sit in front of an enemy and blast him/them, especially the larger machines, seems to take up too much time for Tavia to go and nab an optimal # of coins and gems. For instance: The gemhead on Japan stage; at any level higher than 1-1, isn't it pretty difficult to get all the gems if the character has no homing shot and no bomb is used?
I'll bet that I just need more practice, and maybe a way to get some Gunbird 2 vids. (can't use FTP, KaZaa, WinMX, or any of that. Firewalled to the max)
