He does have a close-range attack powerful enough to
destroy larger enemies immediately, plus he can recover and

I actually like Aine a lot, but since his shot is so narrow, you have to play him differently than everyone else in the game. I didn't think he was a top scorer, is all.
Also, Level 3 Samurai Dynamic kills any boss in one shot, no lie.
...Well, unless bosses on higher difficulties take more damage to kill, but my expirence with is, one shot, one kill.

After what was supposed to be only two weeks, I got my DSL back after over a month. Which means the server's up again, and that means my site is back up. I've been working on it all this time, so the only thing left to do is finish the section no one will read: the General Info section! There's also a small Downloads section and an Articles section, with at least one more coming up. ("Why TATE is the only way to go" is one such article...)

Bleh. Figured I'd give this a try again, since I hadn't played it in awhile. It's going right back on the stack :P

I think what annoys me the absolute most is the total lack of consistency. Sometimes I'll hit 1-4 in perfect shape, sometimes I'll die repeatedly on 1-1, 1-2, or 1-3. I don't even know what to practice to get better.

Off to greener pastures for me.

edit: A thought - perhaps playing in non-tate squashed mode is a disadvantage. How many of you who can pass 1-6 are playing horizontal on the DC? (please say none, lest I be morose)

Original 1 makes it harder by mashing the bullet patterns down so much that the dodging spaces are about character-wide.

Definitely a disadvantage.

This score is nothing fantastic. In fact, it's a little pathetic. But hey, I'm not very good.

214,500 - alpha5099 / Morrigan 1-2

When I first got the game, I started out using Morrigan, but then for whatever reason I switched to Alucard. Then I heard about all the praise for Marion, and I tired her, but I could never get used to how she handles. For some reason I was playing today and decided to switch back to Morrigan and found I was able to pretty quickly expunge most of the high scores from the table. Now only only one of two Marions and Alucards exist on a board dominated by Morrigan.

How close is Original 2 to the Arcade mode? I mean, other than the scrolling part.
They just got Gunbird 2 over at Vernon Hills Mall. 25 cents! You guys were right, a bit easier there than on Original 1 for DC... pulled out 400K without any problems... and all this time I thought getting down into the volcano and showing the boss who's boss was a completely superhuman feat. With the recent post about Original 1's bullet patterns being so squashed, I feel much better about all my past frustrations, head to wall contact, and controller abuse.

Original 2 is essentially useless. All the bullet speed of TATE mode with none of the added reaction time. Find something to flip is my advice.

Where can I find a tv, or rather how do I find a tv, that can do that? I've tried it with two so far, and they just get distorted color (bad of course).

Also, has anyone here figured out a way to play Gunbird 2 on a monitor?
