x-box version get a rent tommorow, the martial arts fighting will either sell me on it or kill it for me, if it plays well,and the moves look good, then i may give it a nod, custom soundtrack is the clincher for box though, rancid and queensryche time.
It plays really well (though it's no VF4 obviously) when you unlock all the extra attacks. It might seem a little plain at first, but that's because you need to earn your extra moves via some easy training exercises. It's also cool to shoot up a person's car until it burns and when the driver gets out, toss him into the flames. :evil:Quote:

Size wize, the city is really impressive. The cars look good and you've got a lot of real world cars that just don't have the names on them (such as S2000, BMW 5 Series, Mustang, Ferrari F40, Crown Victoria, Humvee and so on).
The driving portions are pretty good, and shooting while you drive is a cool feature. The only shitty thing about driving (rented the PS2 version), is that shit really pops up out of nowhere sometimes.
The city, is a good rendition of LA. I was dissapointed to see that my old shithole apartment isn't there at the corner of Yucca and Wilcox (Gone along with the Goldfinger nudie bar and the Korean licquor store), but that's to be expected.
Soundtrack: Turned off within 3 seconds of startup.
The fighting is pretty good and most of the ideas and things that were in the GTA series are generally improved. More options when you fight, more when you shoot (though, I think the driving and the driving camera in GTA is better).
A few bugs here and there that are really annoying (morphing into walls and such), but not a bad first effort.
Not quite polished enough, but if they improve and refine a few things for a sequel, that could be a serious contender against GTA.
Otherwise, the loading screens are a bitch (load a cut scene, load the next scene, load a cut scene).

Nope.
It's probably less than the PS2 one, but will likely load before a mission starts, show a cutscene, load the mission and load anytime you enter a building.
It might be the same, actually, because the xbox ver takes a long time to load whenever you hit the streets. Cut-scenes load in an eye blink, but even interior locations take a little time to come up. Might be just because I've got a partly defective copy (which I've already exchanged once... :curse: ).Quote:

Yeah, see, I just went to Rent it at Blockbuster, and the only one they had left was one PS2 version.
I went for the XB rev first, but all gone. :/
I'm definately going to go buy it and get the XB one.
Mission wise, it's not really too long, but I can live with driving around LA (and going to routes I have driven or to the places I've been to) and just doing missions with the custom tunes.
Precision aim and the upgrades are brutal.
I can blow up a car with one shot up the pipe, good stuff.
I just found out I'll be getting the PS2 version of it sometime within the week. Can't wait to give it, and the soundtrack, a shot.
