Yes, I would have pulled the show. If not for their complaints, just for the fact it's a shitty overrated show.

I know nothing about them. The point is, the developers aren't Sikh, yet they represent Sikh in a way that is offensive to a big enough number of Sikh to cause a controversy. That's all the information neccessary. If you want to stereotype a race/sex/religion, stereotype your own, or make one up, you have no right to use a religion/race/sex in a potentially offensive way if you are not one of them. IMO. And that's all I'm saying.

Everything further will likely be just me repeating myself, like I am right now, so if I don't respond, then I feel your question was already addressed.

Sikh probably don't play many games, let alone Hitman 2 so I say "fuck em"!

Oh and I'll be quick to point out that many people of different races, religions, etc comprise teams that make these games so who's to say that one of them couldn't be Sikh. It's not just us white folk, gihick.

My Point? This is getting fuckin ridiculous! There are far too many other problems that exist in this world that are far more important than some goddamn video game.

People's priorities are just fucked all up these days.

As for Sikhs being a religion, and not a race. That maybe the case, I really don't know. Either way, it's still ridiculous.

In a statement on the Hitman 2 Web site, Eidos has announced that it has acted in response to criticisms raised by The Sikh Coalition in a recent online campaign. The Sikh Coalition and a number of other international Sikh groups protested the game's depiction of Dalits, a people in India, as followers of an evil cult leader, as well as the combat that players undertake midway through the game against turbaned Sikh characters inside a Sikh place of worship.
In the statement, Eidos said that, along with the game's developer, IO Interactive, it is responding in "a socially and commercially responsible manner by removing from the Hitman 2 Web site all relevant images and content, taking steps to amend the game on all existing platforms, and adapting the next edition of the game due out for the GameCube platform." The statement also said that the publisher had learned its lesson and that it would "observe and respect cultural, religious, and ethical sensitivities in its future products."

Hitman 2 is a third-person action game where players follow the renewed career of Agent 47, a genetically enhanced assassin. The game's assassination missions take place in a wide range of locations, but the game starts off in Sicily, where Agent 47's retirement on a small church's grounds is violently interrupted. For more details, check out our reviews of the PC, Xbox, and PS2 versions of the game. The GameCube version is scheduled for early next year.
