*gasp* I LOVE YOU Click_Stick!
(I have decided, since he is the bringer of this news, that he is also the one responsible for it)
EDIT: Same ol' site as before, but glad that it's back.
I never went to the original official site when it was around... It ain't too shabby, surprisingly. Lotsa nice screens and logo art and.... Japanese text (of course.)
I checked X-nauts site a while back and the only Psikyo page they had was littered with nudity, so this must be new.
Thanks for the heads-up.
This page makes me want to cry and sell everything I own (for Gunbarich, Strikers 1999 and Dragon Blaze). *archiving*
Are they gonna release some of their new shooters on console or is it arcade only for now?
X-nauts probably has them tied up making cellphone games.
Notice Gunspike mysteriously absent. It was there before.
...so all that stuff about them going bye-bye is not true then?
*Prays for a Strikers 1999 home release
That's really good to see, even if it may not actually mean anything.
Rob, if you're seriously interested in obtaining a 1999 board, do get in touch.
Hey! Why don't you guys list some must have Psikyo games so I can go to my nearest importer and buy some shooter goodness.
I've never been a big fan of the genre, but Ikaruga has instilled in me a shooter's cravings!!! I know Ikaruga is above average, and I don't expect every shooter ever to be on par with that, so don't let that derail you.
I own Gunbird 2...that's really it outside of Ikaruga. I want lists!!!
Not clear. This site is just a straight moving of their old site, full of bad links, and no new info. Word has it the shmups team was fired, so it's unclear if this is just here for legacy purposes. But it's reason enough to hope, so that's something.Quote:

Strikers 1945 - JP only Sat & PSX
Strikers 1945 II - Jap Sat & PSX (it is just Strikers 1945 on the domestic PSX)
Gunbird - Jap Sat & PSX
Umm, there are more, but I forget. Just do a search on shmups. You will bring up tons of info. Another thing is, if you already have a Psikyo shmup, maybe you should try out another developer, all of the Strikers & GB games are very similar. Give Dodonpachi or (if you have the cash) Battle Garegga. Both of these feel superrior to most Psikyo games. Just to broaden your horizons. =)

Strikers 1945 II psx-its been released in the US,psx rev pisses over saturn version
Strikers 1945-Saturn
Gunbird -Psx and Saturn. No Idea which ones better.
Zero Gunner 2 - DC
Sengoku Blade-horizontalpsikyo shooter -I'll pick this up sometime soon.
Sol Divide(ps/saturn)-Never played it . I remember that it got good a review in some Saturn mag.I read elsewhere that it sucks ass.

I see no trace of it in game (it's only got "Main Game Mode" AKA Original 2). If anyone can help me unlock it I'd be more than appreciative.Quote:

Ugh, I don't know what happened to my last post, but in short, CV, I recommend Zero Gunner 2 (DC) and Strikers 1945 II (JP PSX).
There was a post about Strikers on the shmups.com forum. I think that there are 2 versions of the game.
Problem?Quote:

Hey:
Thanks, Click! I was wondering if Psikyo had called it quits or something, as www.psikyo.co.jp hasn't worked every time I tried it for the past month or two.
What in the sam hell is Gunbarich?!?!?!
-Technosphile
Captain Vegetable,
I highly recomend ZeroGunner2. Get it while you can.
Yeah it's just the old site. Good to see it back up though. And while you're "broadening your horizons," check out Toaplan. Kyukyoku Tiger is fucking amazing.
Thanks Click.
I really, really ought to purchase ZG2 in the near future. Any thoughts on the difficulty of this shooter compared to other Psikyo titles? GB2 dominates me time and time again.
Thanks Click. :D
Now I hope X-Nauts gets into console game development to bring out some of the Psikyo games that didn't make it to a home system (especially Strikers 1999).
If the shmups team got canned, hopefully they'll find a spot with one of the other companies (Taito, Cave, Takumi, etc). These guys did such good work that someone will take them in.
well, i don't have anything to add that hasn't been said already, but i felt i should be in this thread. anyways, this is pretty much what i would've said...
