His defencemen on the other hand were pathetic. They were unable to keep up with the Sens and played very poor positional defence. I hope Mr. Julien give them a verbal thrashing for this very bad effort tonight. This is unacceptable. The music that was played tonight at the arena is even less acceptable. I will go shoot the person responsible for that terrible music later.
Anaheim is still playing like crap. Someone should tell them that preseason is over. Vokoun is looking very good in net for the Predators. Nashville is dominating the Ducks asses all over the ice. Gerber is solid and is probably the only reason the score is not so lopsided in the favour of the Preds. The Islanders were not so lucky though cause Washington lit Snow and DiPietro up like a forest fire.
Hitchcock coaching system is looking good. It seems to be working out for them. I haven't seen that Flyers team play that good in quite some time. They dictated everything against the Sabres. Buffalo had no chance.
Finally, how Yzerman managed to get a goal with one second left on the clock to beat the Los Angeles Kings is beyond me. I'll just assume it was a fluke and that the Senators will defeat them on Saturday.
Damn, I gotta go to sleep. Can't watch Calgary VS Vancouver. Blasted freaking work. Might as well watch highlights in the morning. Argh!
I agree completely about Theo. He had no shot on those goals. I hope the casual fans don't see the score and make the wrong assumption. I'd not over-react after one game. They are up against the league's best team in the first game, that's tough.... We'll see how they do against Toronto and Washington.
I am not sure what I think about Julien as a coach. He has a good track record but the team didn't respond to him at all last year. I actually think Therrien got a raw deal, not that he was that great a coach either. Gainey didn't hire Julien either so... we'll see how they do.
On the bright side I think Ribeiro could have a breakthrough season this year. His goal tonight was a beauty.
They played the Growing Pains theme song!! :lol:Quote:

Montreal had better try harder though. It looked very half assed. Either that or Julien's system is really bad. And yeah, they were playing against the elite level Sens. The fact that the Sens are also one of the fastest and heaviest teams in the NHL doesn't help Montreal's small defence look good either. It might work better against slower Toronto and Washington teams though. We'll see. If Julien can't control his team, he'll be fired soon enough.
On a positive note, I am extremely impressed with Michael Ryder. That guy is gonna be freaking good.
Growing Pains theme song indeed. A hockey game is no place for that kind of thing.
What do mean Hedberg wasn't in net? Crawford, Crawford, Crawford....:td:Well at least they won.
Finally, good for Jordin Tootoo for making NHL and having an impact...
and dont me and my brother know that more than anybody. he's the beantown fan and im the hawks fan. bit of a rebuilding time for both, moreso with the hawks now tho. 6 dressed rookies this year.Quote:

When we were watching the game icepop asked if the Sens were bigger than the Habs or if it was an illusion because they were wearing white. :lol:Quote:

Man, I truly feel sorry for the fans that have to put up with these pieces of shit.
I don't think anybody other than Red Wings GM Ken Holland is stupid enough to take Jagr giant contract. He'll be done soon.
SGGG: Make no mistake, the Sens are freaking huge. I think their average weight is like 215 or higher.
Tootoo seems to be adapting to the NHL game. His hitting is still good at this level. Hopefully he doesn't go around checking everything cause somebody might eventually go and kill him later.

Yeah Ruutu is gonna be something great. Smith better not trade his ass when he gets good.
As a NY Ranger fan, it looks like I have another great year to look forward to. Like, 0 for 8 on power plays, Lindros taking penalties on power plays, blowing 2 goal leads and more.
Yep, same ol' Blue.
Yes, the New York Rangers are pretty bad at the moment, but I wouldn't worry too much though. Once all them old fogeys and overpaid Europeans retire due to the looming lockout your team will be a lot better. They could even use some money to get players that have teamwork skills and know how to play defence. Unfortunately, Eric Lindros will still be there and he will still make outrageous, boneheaded plays. Oh well.....
Nah, the Rangers are screwed long term. Glen Sather is the worst GM in hockey (not named Mike Milbury). There is no chance to recover with him in charge. Even if they dumped all of the high priced floaters (which they can't do, no one in their right mind would take Holík's contract off them! ) they still have no prospects. It's truly hopeless. :)
ps. Habs@Leafs tonight. The Habs have not done well versus the hated Leafs over the past few years, but this year I hope things will be different. Also, this will be a big game for them after getting smoked by the Sens. That loss is understandable because the Sens are one of the best. But the Habs should have a better shot tonight.
