Alchahest

Hey:

Alchahest, SFC, developed by Hal Laboratories and published by Square. I've heard good things about this game and the screens look boss. Its an action RPG...is it playable despite the language barrier?

Any info/opinions appreciated.

I beat it and I enjoyed every moment of it. The graphics are pretty good for a game made in 93, but I can't remember the music. It isn't very story driven, but what's there is more than acceptable. the gameplay really carries it. Decent length and challenging in some parts.

Oh shit, I can't remember what my original post said, but I didn't know providing a link to a patch was not allowed. My fault.

I too didn't realize linking to a patch wasn't allowed...

It's not allowed, unless a translation patch has some other legitimate use other than application to a ROM, which isn't allowed. If there is, inform me.

PC patches are a different story and fine by me, generally.

My point is that patches aren't illegal. Just like lighters aren't illegal while Marijuana is. If you say you are going to use the lighter to smoke weed, is it illegal for them to sell it to you?

I say, regardless of what they are doing with the patch, the patch isn't illegal in any way.

But this is a discussion for another time. Maybe we should discuss this in the Mod board...

Lighters aren't illegal because they can be used for many legal purposes. Crackpipes are illegal in many jurisdictions, as is other drug paraphernalia.

Besides that, we can hold a higher standard than the law. That said, I made a split-second decision on patches - if you think I'm wrong and that it's important, bring it up in the mod forum and we'll discuss it.

A better analogy would be if you substitued bongs for lighters.
