The newer versions of Winamp support OGG, OGG is roughly the same size as MP3, and sounds much better. Try it out.

I suggest you use Exact Audio Copy as someone said above, however I'd use LAME encoding.
OGG is nicer than MP3s at lower bitrates, but can't compare at higher bitrates.
