The newest issue of Famitsu details some new information regarding OverWorks's Dreamcast-to-GameCube port, Skies of Arcadia Legend.
A new addition to the GC version of SoA is a new "Rogue System." Throughout the game, there are posters hanging of criminals that include a picture and description, along with a bounty. Vyse and crew can then go off and search for each culprit, earning fame and fortune for every new person captured.
In a neat twist, "evil" versions of Vyse, Aika, and Fina will be in the game as criminals, and the player's party can hunt them down; a quest which ends in a battle between the two groups, which has the bad guys using the heroes' attacks against them.
The magazine is also reporting, though it remains unconfirmed at this point, that monsters will gain levels as the playable characters do, thus increasing the difficulty.
Screens in Famitsu apparently show that OverWorks has been doing more than just transferring the game piecemeal; Skies of Arcadia Legends exhibits textures that look much crisper, with an apparently increased draw distance!
Hopefully, we'll have some scans of the game soon. Stay tuned.
cool, im really looking forward to this. i tried playing it on Dreamcast, but 15 hours into the game, my file got fucked, and i decided that i would wait til i forgot everything about the story til i played it again. i almost never play RPGs, so i didn't buy this on Dreamcast, but i did enjoy what i didplay, and will get the new version of the game.
seems like they've added a lot to the game as far as content goes. oh, and remember hearing rumors a long time ago about this getting canceled on PS2, and the series becoming a Cube exclusive. so far one part of that rumor has become true, and in a GameSpot interview, the team said that they'd like to to make more games in the series.
