Activision Anthology

Bah! I had a blast playing Combat with a friend the other day. I would like this compilation alot, but I dont dig load times on old games. Thats one thing that pissed me off about the compilation for the PlayStation. Not to mention that every time you selected a title, it took a while to load the little dmo screen. Scrolling through the games was a pain.

I cant wait till someone reminds me of how unfun these games are now. Or that anyone planning on buying this should just go out and get the originals. Because, you know, they are right, and everyone has easy access to a vast library of 2600 games.... EVERYONE.

Just want to say that I picked this up last week and it's all I've been playing. I dropped Metroid Fusion(among others) to play this. Outdated or not, I'm having a blast with this collection. It is easily the best Retro compilation released thus far.

No load times? Cool. The PSX Namco collections ruled the world though. They introduced me to the fun that is Toy Pop.

Kaboom! is by FAR my favorite 2600 game, and I bought the Activision collection for PSOne just for that game. However, playing it with the d-pad was SO not happening.

Yes, there are no load times and this collection is indeed probably the best of the bunch. It's so cool to unlock little goodies after getting a high score. Man those old commercials were bad(but hilarious). I would have liked to see the Coleco versions of some of the games too, but H.E.R.O is fun no matter what.

Yeah you'll be playing the game for however long and once you get to a certain score a little box will pop up "you have unlocked Skiing commercial". I've also found a few cool things in the manual scans with a picture circa 1982 of the developers giving you tips how to beat the game.

Someone get to work on that 2600 - PS2 converter! I gotta use the original Paddles for Kaboom! lol

Hmm... Never did have an Atari...
Well, I guess I'll pick this up. It's not like simplistic action is new to me.

Now, if only there was a Zupapa (unrelated to this game, I know) port, I would have every arcade port I'd ever need...
