How do you "further" a punchline?Quote:

If it came on a dedicated system, and cost one thousand dollars I would still buy it.
Hell, I'd buy two.
I missed that, care to fill me in? I find it odd seeing as how FFVI was completely steampunk, and those elements were present in some of the other previous FFs as well.Quote:
Need we forget the "uproar" that the Steampunk setting of Final Fantasy VII caused before it came out?
Hmm, lessee here. Square takes one of their combination lamest/most unintentionally hysterical FF stories ever, supposedly removes the sole thing that made any portion of the game worth playing (the battle system), and transforms the rest into a fan-service fest. I'd say it also features gaudy, terrible designs and concepts, but the first one had that as well.Quote:
Square tries doing something completely different with the characters from Final Fantasy X, combining together all sorts of neat ideas and concepts to create a sort of jack-of-all-games (for lack of a better term), and you all complain that it is going to suck or that it is lame.
DOAXB has been fan-service since the beginning, and has always had that as a "feature." It did not go from bad to worse in terms of design.Right, because we've never had any discussions on the gameplay portions, never had any huge threads based around plenty of people saying they won't touch it until they see something about the gameplay, and nothing like the last thread solely about DOAXBs gameplay. I think someone's been selectively reading.Quote:

Hey! I liked FFX.:(Quote:

Honestly though, hysterical?
Definitely.
Especially since, throwing aside a few plot twists, the main plot is layed out for you straight out.
Loved that battle system, though. Too bad it's GONE.
The FF games make money. Money is good. Selling more copies on day one, then, say most gc games to date have done, is also good.
It sells, it gets made and so forth.
Spoilers regarding FFXYes. I actually broke out laughing during a few major plot points, most notably the revelation of who Sin is. It was like the end of The Empire Strikes Back, only Luke got told the Death Star was his father instead of Darth Vader.Quote:

Oh, and I almost got up and walked out of my living room during that horrible "forced laughing" scene. That's got to be one of the most terrible scenes in any RPG in existance, it wasn't even laughably bad, it just reeked.
That battle system, on the other hand, was awesome as hell. Definately the best since the wonderfully absuable FFVIII battle system (it seems the even numbered ones generally have better battle systems); combine that with everything else from FFIX and it would become the greatest FF ever.
I am convinced that a good portion of the haters sit in the room with the lights off late at night and play and love the post-snes FF games.
Like a little kid reading with a flashlight under the covers...
Yeah It's cool to hate the Playstation FF's if you've been gaming since the NES/SNES days. I loved every FF except VIII, that game was garbage.
