I just want to pop in really quick and say that Metroid Prime is one of the most carefully and beautifully designed games I've ever seen.
The sense of utter isolation is overwhelming, but at the same time, you're surrounded by secrets just waiting to be uncovered.
This is some of the most fun I've had with a game, period.

I fail to see how the inablity to turn around quickly (although I wish this was done a bit better) detracts from this as Metroid. Actually, if I had to pick one franchise that has stayed the closest to its roots over four generations, this would be it.Quote:

Anyway - I just got the Wave Beam, and I'm really hooked. Still not sold that beam switching is the best use of the C Stick, but I'm happy I don't have to switch through the menu.
