don't worry about. i pertty much have every single store in the area on check. what bothers me though is i was literally 2 seconds away from pre ordering the game at that GameSpot, but i just can't get myself to do it.Quote:

with a game that i'd actually be willing to pre-order, im obviously looking forward to it very much. so if the store that i pre-ordered from got the game even an hour later then one of the stores in my area, i'd lose it. i fuckin hate waiting for shit like this. that's pretty much why i never end up pre-ordering the game. i don't like risking the wait if i can get it somewhere else earlier that day.
If i remember correctly, a couple people who worked on half life now work at retro. you can really see the influence half-life had on metroid prime. for instance, the lack of loading screens and cutscenes. they are both seamless experiences.
And how smart was Nintendo to buy Retro after they fucked up, but before they released an awesome game?
Which, ironically enough, has completely defeated the purpose before.Quote:

In the words of Winston Wolf... "lets not start sucking each other's dicks just yet". Yes, Nintendo bought Retro after they fucked up, but keep in mind that Nintendo did drop a load of money on the developers before they bought them. I figure that Nintendo bought them just as a "might as well" gesture... they already spent several million dollars on them at that point.Quote:

thing with Sunshine though, is that i didn't have the money for the game til the night before the import came out.Quote:

care to explain that one to me?
oh, and that quote by The Wolf is fuckin awesome.
Nintendo pretty much funded Retro from the start, because they were a company meant to design GameCube software. So they funded for the company, they funded to build these diesel offices in Texas, etc... Nintendo put a lot of start-up money into the company, and yes they were funding the company while they were fucking around in the early stages. I guess after Nintendo cut all those shitty games loose they said "hey now they're in good shape, lets buy them" but before that they did put a lot of money into the company.
So, at least with regards to Retro, Nintendo isn't exactly the ultra-savvy bunch of geniuses that you may think they are.
you can:Quote:

a. get your money back
or
b. use that credit towards something else
Ah. I said that because someone else stated that you had the cash but instead decided to spend it on pot right before it was released.Quote:

Yep, I did that for Sky Gunner. Reserved it at Funco, but EB got it in about a half week earlier so I picked it up at EB and used my $10 reserve to help buy another game.Quote:

that's somewhat true. except i didn't buy the weed til i found out that the next chance i would have to import would be a few days after the japanese launch, which i was cool with cause i'd have the money again by then.Quote:
