My only complaint with Prime's control setup is the lack of C-stick looking. I hate having to hold R while standing still to look. It seems so non-intuitive. It's even worse when switching from R to L to target.

A lock-on doesn't guarantee hits on an agile enemy. You have to time and place your shots carefully, especially if you're charging shots or using the Ice Beam. And there are also times you can't get a lock-on (or the target is too quick or erratic for it to be useful) and manual aiming is necessary.Quote:

I though this too, until I acquired mutiple beams and found myself in situations that require quick switching. You'll eventually be quite happy the C-stick (and D-pad) are used the way they are.Quote:

First off: I hate console FPS' (as you all know), and I think Prime is one of the greatest games I've ever played (as you all probably know). Believe me, the two are not interchangable. This is ZOoT with a different camera, and it works beautifully.
Secondly: If you have not gotten to the mines, don't bitch about the C-stick. Believe me, you don't comprehend half the usefulness of the setup.Hm? Maybe I'm missing something, but don't you have a finger on both shoulder buttons at once?Quote:

I'm sorry but I'm just having way too much trouble with the dodge feature. You can tap all you want and it still works when it feels like it. It's causing me no end of pain in.......

Dodging the fucking Omega Pirate is a bitch; way more than it should be. His being an utter puta doesn't help either. It seems that dodging him, those damn fungus pits AND the multi-colored pirates he calls down is very difficult when you can't dodge every time you need to.
Anyone have any tips on beating him?
END SPOILER WARNING **
no tips from me. i have yet to pick the game up since i beat the rock boss and died gettig back to the save point. having to switch visors with the d-pad in the middle of a fight is utter bullshit as well.
Too true. That and the crappy dodge feature make boss battles much harder than necessary. I could've beaten a few of the bosses much more easily if the visors and dodge feature had been easier to use.Quote:

Melf: I led him in a curved line backwards across the arena while firing away with missiles or charged Plasma (when he isn't defending) and when I get to one side and he closes in, morph ball my ass out of there. Repeat until Pirates summoned, lock-on and blast away, x-ray, charged Plasma, repeat full cycle.
Dodging itself is pretty useless against him (just jump over shockwaves and morph ball from the rest).
I'll have to try morphing away from him. I just hope he doesn't swat me like a tennis ball like a certain other big bruiser of a boss did.
Wow! Just like every other game ever made!Quote:

Just when you thought it would be safe to read a thread...
