anyways, this might as well be a "who's going?" thread. anyways, i'll have a car this time around, so i can actually show you guys around Los Angeles instead of just hanging out at the hotel room.
anyways, it's 6 months away, but i look forward to seeing you guys again.

The best part of attending this next E3 will be finally hanging out with some fellow TNLers, which is cool.
OK, maybe the best part will be the video games, particularly Nintendo's booth, but you know what I mean.
Does everyone who's going here register together as a part of TNL, or how do we work this thing? I guess there's plenty of time left, but I must admit to being quite ignorant of this whole process.
And Lucas, a place to stay would be great, although I could always get a hotel room no problem. Got 6 months to save!
Mzo, i've always liked you, so it's something i'll consider. i can't really give a yes to anyone (with the exception of Kinopio, and a few other members).
still, even though i live like 7 minutes away from the convention center, i still wouldn't mind spiltting a hotel room with some member here. it's mroe fun that way, and gives the convention more of a super vacation feel to it.
as for going as TNL, i wouldn't know. i work at a toy store, so we're considered a videogame vender. that's how im getting in. would be damn cool of Bahn though, although i think that would be out of the question.
oh, and anyone have any idea of Kenshin is going next year? i'd love to get some better footage of him this time.

All I know is I'm not gonna be staying in the Korea town Quality Inn this year near Olympic. It was alright (I registered pretty late, it was my first E3) and situated next to a nice Korean restaurant but no more sweaty, smelly neighborhoods for me.
Can't wait to play P.N.03. :) Hope there are at least a few shmups there. I personally thought E3 '02 was darn good for a shmup/2D fan with R-TYPE 3 (where the heck did that one go?), Robotech GBA, and Contra SS.

I dont think they ever will. One of the biggest complaints that people had about the Atlanta E3s was that it was very expensive to transport all that shit across the nation to Atlanta. LA is a lot closer to Silicon Valley and thus a lot cheaper. So the companies can spend a lot more money on booth babes and Foo Fighters/free booze for the parties.

One question: when you guys hung out did you refer to each other by your screennames here or by your real names? The small talk you guys had about Kenshin above implies the former. If it is, count me out of anything you guys got planned. Thats too geeky and unnerving for me.
i would call him Kenshin, but he would give me shit and tell me to call him Jacob. which only gave me more reason to continue calling him Kenshin. everyone else i pretty much called by their screen name.

Working retail gaming is more than good enough to get you into E3. Free pass, no problem. Before WD I'd managed to get a pass through working at TRU, of all places.

It's called an industry event. If you want Tokyo Game Show, go to Tokyo. E3 is an event for the industry to take a look at what's coming up.
Going to E3 last year was a great experience last year and I recommend to those who haven't done so to try it at least once. Even if you're not sure if you are going in 2003, start saving money now. I spent from $800-$1000 for the entire trip (airfare, hotel, food).

About one mile away west, there's two great Korean places on Olympic. I've been to both in my e3 travels and they get the Fongul cuinary stamp of approval... The Korean place past the Quality Inn is a buffet. For $20, you get a hibachi at your table and access to all the meat you would ever want to BBQ. Wow. An E3 and I'm actually 18 and it's early enough to actually plan. I'm going to try my hardest to go XD!!! The only thing thats holding me back is I have to get the pass (Which I could possibly bring back my gaming site out of nowhere =X) and then I have to find out when I'm going to Illinois. I'm going over there with my parents in May to visit some relatives, so I'm hoping they don't conflict.
I already started bugging people up here to see whos going so I can scam myself a ride =X I don't want to have to drive 6 hours myself.

In Bahn's defense, we had a difficult enough time getting all of our own people in last year.
For EB/GameStop/Etc employees, I believe you need clearance from corporate to go in their name. At least that is what I have heard.
