Most definitely Japanese, but then again, I've been re-acquiring some of the gems of my past collection. Still, most of the Western games just don't interest me as much. There are a few select titles that have been nice, and will be assimilated into my collection eventually.
This year I bought more Japanese bames but played American ones more. Empire Earth, Age of Mythology, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Metroid. While the American games are few, they've been by and large more addicting.
Japanese for now :) Its all about Capcom baby :)
But Western developers getting better. I like Splinter Cell, Sly Cooper, NightFire, Run Like Hell and they all made by Western developers.
At first I was shocked at the results of this poll...and then I realized you meant Japanese developed. Now I get it.
Well...let's see.
My favorite games this year (and it has been a great year for games) have been:
Maximo
Need For Speed HP2
DDR Max
Metroid Prime
Metroid Fusion
Mario Sunshine
Eternal Darkness
Castlevania HoD
Those are the games that absolutly snared me and wouldn't let me go.
4 American
4 Japanese
I'll be damned. Even. I never thought I'd see that day. As soon as I play Steel Battallion that may tip...
There are about 1000 other games I bought this year, many that I really liked, but my head would explode just thinking about it. :)
The results are both predictable and accurate thus far.
Predictable and accurate for this forum I'd say. I'd venture to say if you asked this question to Joe Gamer, it'd be reversed 90% of the time.
Joe Gamer also buys an awful lot of crap. Just ask EA. ;)Quote:

The last two EA (as publisher) titles I bought were solid: LotR:TT, and 007: Nightfire. EA is and has been worthy of some contempt, but they still manage to release their fair share of decent games.Quote:

On topic: Aboout 50/50 in the purchase department, and since I almost always enjoy the games I buy, the enjoyment factor should be about the same.
