Yep, making Konami Japans #1 software company.The ENIX SQUARE company will probably beat it sometime soon also...
But there's no reason given to why this has happened....maybe it's because of the higher costs of marketing all of this years big games.(and I guess the profit from MP sales hasnt been included yet as this years profit?:bang:] , or maybe it was because of lackluster sales.SMS tanked in Japan as far as I can remember.
Well Metroid has done less numbers than SMS, though it seems to have brought GC above XB in sales.

SMS didn't tank, it just wasn't a massive cultural phenomenon like some people were expecting it to be.

How can it be claimed that Konami is #1 in Japan for 2002? Nintendo just released Pokemon, and they haven't released the #1 most wanted game in Japan yet(zelda).
