Dead to Rights

Well, I went ahead and rented Dead to Rights for the PS2 reluctantly, since they had a lot more games there I wanted to rent, but I went ahead and rented it anyway. Well, after getting around to play it, I wasn't really feeling it with the first little level and the whole strip club level. I had stopped playing it for a while, and picked back up on it and the game's action and fun factor started to go up. I really enjoyed quite a few of the levels in the game, but after getting up to Chapter 10, it seems like the game goes into ultra cheap mode, where the moment you come out the Helicopter and the baddies kill you before you accomplish killing anybody. The game reminds me of Fighting Force 2, if it was done right with a mixture of Max Payne and the first Fighting Force. The only problem I have with this is that the bosses have been pretty much boring, reminds me of Max Payne where the bosses were quite boring to me as well. I killed one boss in like 5 seconds.

Anybody else been playing Dead to Rights?

i rented this for xbox---pure crap---i'd rather play max payne through 100 times that play this...something about this game rubbed me the wrong way (the graphics for starters)...could have done without the damn lock-on system, it's almost as if they made the ai cheap as hell to counter it...

The PS2 version is extremely easy once you get up to Chapter 10, and that isn't really that hard if you sit down and come up with a strategy. I have Max Payne, and personally I was very disappointed with that game. To me Max Payne was just dull and got boring very quick. If I could I would probably trade in Max Payne for Dead to Rights.

I didn't really like either, but I didn't think DtR was as appalling as I'd read.

DtR is one of those games that is great for about $20, but any more and you'll feel ripped off.

Nah, it's more about beating/shooting the crap out of people. I don't think there even are any stealth levels.

I hear the PS2/GC versions took care of most of the minigame complaints that supposidly bogged down the Xbox version. Perhaps skeptics might wanna give it a chance this time around?

I'd rather jam pee-cicles in my eye during a labotomy without the comfort of anesthesia.

It's Namco's US division so I'm not surprised about that.

I've wanted to play this game for a while, when it hits 20 bucks I'll be all over it
