Who do you want AND think will win?

After reading Shin Johnpv GOTY thread at Neomega, I thought of a thread based on who you want to win, and who you think is gonna win.

Want first:

GC- Prime (no contest for me, really)
X-Box- Splinter Cell??? (I don't own it yet but I plan on getting it within the next few days)
PS2- ??? (I haven't really played any PS2 exclusive games this year. I don't know of any friend who owns one, so :( I'll vote for Shinobi, since I'm such a Shinobi freak.)
GBA- Tied between Castlevania: HOD and Metroid Fusion.

Think next:

GC- Prime (no contest at all, really)
X-Box- Splinter Cell (I think it has a good shot at winning the most GOTYs' for X-Box)
PS2- GTAIII: VC (Whether it's deserving or not, I don't know. But I think it will win the most GOTYs' for PS2)
GBA- Metroid Fusion (I just think it will win. Metroid might just make a clean sweep of the GOTY awards this year)

Keep in mind that I haven't played many games this year. It's been a really bad year for me as far as playing many games is concerned. I'd like all of your imput, though. Add DC, PC or any other system with new games this year if you want too.

Want:

XB: Mech Assault, Splinter Cell, Rallisport Challenge, Morrowind, or Shenmue 2

GC: Metroid Prime, Starfox Adventures, or Mario Sunshine

PS2: Virtua Fighter 4 or GTA:VC

All: Mech Assault or Virtua Fighter 4

Think:

XB: Splinter Cell (der)
GC: Metroid (der)
PS2: GTA:VC (der)
All: I think all three will win GOTY at a few places. Metroid will probably win the most though, it seems to be this years' 'big-game-all-the-press-wants-to-praise' game.

I don't think I agree with many people on these type of things, and to be fair, I haven't played all of the GOTY contenders. With that knowledge, here are my opinions: :D

PS2: Kingdom Hearts (Square)
GC: No preference
Xbox: Gunvalkyrie (Smilebit/Sega)
GBA: Metroid Fusion (Nintendo)

Will win
PS2: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (Rockstar)
GC: Metroid Prime (Retro/Nintendo)
Xbox: Splinter Cell (Ubisoft)
GBA: Metroid Fusion (Nintendo)

I have no preference for the GC as nothing I've played this year on the system has truly impressed me enough to be considered a great game. I'm thinking that may change with Metroid Prime, though, because I'm loving the GBA version. Kingdom Hearts truly surprised me; it wasn't even on my radar. I bought it, of all things, because of Square's TV commercials. God I'm a sap. :p Gunvalkyrie was another impulse buy that turned out to be worth every penny, and more. I got so much playtime out of it, that my time with Xbox leaped above all the other systems. If I had to take a guess, somewhere around 100-120 hours. Finally, I'm only about halfway through Metroid Fusion, but it's already better than every other Gameboy game I've played this year. Sonic Advance was a great game, but had enough flaws to keep it back.

Btw...whose GOTY are we going by for the 'will win' part? :)

Cube - Havent played Prime yet, but I'm sure it will be GOTY
Xbox - Splinter Cell or JSRF
PS2 - Vice City, Burnout 2 or Shinobi

Probably will win:

Cube - Prime
Xbox - Splinter Cell
PS2 - Vice City

Think:

Xbox - Splinter Cell.
Cube - Prime.
GBA - Fusion.
PS2 - Vice City.

Want:

Xbox - Uhh. I'm not sure. Probably Splinter Cell.
Cube - Prime.
GBA - Super Monkey Ball Jr. or Fusion. Or, if we count imports, Pokemon R/S. (Quiet. I like it.)
PS2 - VF4. Though, did that come out this year? If it didn't, then Vice City.

I can't predict the idiocy of the mainstream press, but here are my choices:

GCN: Metroid Prime (Retro/Nintendo)
Xbox: Jet Set Radio Future (Smilebit/Sega)
PS2: GTA: Vice City (Rockstar)
GBA: Castlevania: HoD (Konami)

Where's the Eternal Darkness love?! I mean, besides the fact that Prime is just that good. And really, Prime takes my vote as well.
GunValk for XBox most definately. Although Steel Battalion is definately up there...
C:HoD for GBA.
The PS2 is a tad bit harder due the recent releases, but I'm thinking Shinobi. Sky Gunner and VF4 are assuredly up there as well.

GC: Either Super Mario Sunshine or Metroid Prime. It's a toss up.
PS2: Maximo or Kingdom Hearts. I would say GTA:VC but I don't think it really lived up to the hype.
XBox: Monopoly Party for reals.
GBA: Metroid Prime, because I would feel like a whore if I just said Mario Advance 3 ;p
Arcade: IIDX 8th Style or Soul Calibur 2. Another toss up.

Those are just my picks, I don't really care what magazine editors think.
