cool...i got there 30 minutes before it started (on the 5th day it was out) and the theatre was packed. so i had to sit in the 2nd row from the front and was wondering if the fight scenes were more clear farther back or not.Quote:

Isn't the film blur a side effect of film ? That's what I seemed to remember... that even the first part looked blurry in the theaters but absolutely awesome on DVD...
Something to do with 24 frames per second vs 30 frames per second ?
In any case, I didn't notice much blur in the battle scenes but definitely on those quick pans on the landscapes etc
I actually sat down and watched the extended cut of FotR (which is strange, seeing as I didn't like the movie when I first saw it), and I must say, compared to this, Two Towers is such a sloppy mess of a movie, I can not for the life of me understand how people can toss around words like "perfection" when speaking about this film.
Oh well, here's hoping the extended cut of this movie will set things straight.
I liked FotR more as well.
I'll agree FotR is a far more coherent, far more refined version of a film. However, I can definitely see how a lot of people prefer the second one. It's action packed, with some great battle scenes, in addition to having a lighter mood. The whole movie felt far more 'fun' without being a superior film.
However, I still say I really enjoy the second movie and I am totally holding off judgement until the inevitable release of the Two Towers Extended Edition DVD :D

Anyway, I did enjoy some things in the movie, such as the battles and Gimili’s banter, but the boring stuff far outweighed the cool stuff.
Aragon's horse was sent by Arwen to help him get to Helms Deep, while on route to Helms Deep he runs into the (10,000) Orc Warriors. Which are also headed for Helms Deep.
I say perfection, as it's the best movie I've ever seen, beating out my previous favorite movie, the first one.Quote:

I don't want to get all Opa on you and put you on trial for your opinions, but I'm just wondering why you didn't like it so much? You say it was agonizingly slow, but it's much, much faster than the first movie ever was.

i thought the movie felt very long, but since i was completely enthralled by it, it was a good kind of long
... i've only felt that way about FotR and The Insider
omfgninjas, I felt the film was slow, because constantly I found myself yawning, and almost falling asleep during the movie, and as for the editing, the transitions from scene to scene just seemed sloppy and awkward to me.
But, my opinion of the movie will probably change once I see the extended cut, because before I saw the longer version of FotR, I thought it was a crappy movie as well, but my opinion changed after seeing the film the way it was originally intended.

You know... When I saw Gandolf walking into what's-his-name... The corrupted king's palace, I swear he was wearing white sneakers. During the same scene, however, I saw his feet again and they looked fairly normal... mm.
