Famitsu Reviews Panzer Dragoon Orta

"If there was any doubt in your mind that a Japanese developer could create a triple-A title for the Xbox, those worries should forever be put to rest. In the latest issue of Famitsu Xbox, Smilebit's Panzer Dragoon Orta received three 10's and an 8 for a total of 38 and the prestigious platinum award. Also worth mentioning is several unlockables present in the new Panzer Dragoon installment, including the original Panzer Dragoon, released previously only on the Saturn, as well as several CG movies from the three previous Panzer Dragoon titles.

With just a little over a month till the U.S. release of Orta, Xbox gamers should be saving cash and vacation time in anticipation for what could be the greatest episode in an already classic series. Panzer Dragoon Orta releases domestically January 14th."


The extras sound sweet. knew about unlockable PD1 but didn't know about the movies from the 1st 3 games. Too bad i don't have an XBOX

Great news. So far, so good. Those are impressive scores, but Orta had me at "hello."

This and JSRF sold me that XBox, sitting oh so elegently on my dresser...

Nice to hear it turned out great. As soon as I get an Xbox.. (one day when there are more than 2 games I want), PDO and JSRF shall be mine! :)

Famitsu Xbox are usually reasonably strict with review scores, way more so than Famitsu Weekly. Panzer Dragoon Orta is now the highest scoring game, overtaking the previous top 3 of Halo, JSRF and Tekki.

Hopefully someone in the U.S. will notice this game...

Aside from us, that is. :P
