Gain Ground, eh? Sweeet.
Fighting Force was well into production by Core when Sega attempted to buy it to try and convert it into Streets of Rage 4. However, they didn't, and so a quick attempt at purchasing that never happened is the only connection between the two. In the words of Spaceballs, "So what does that make us?" "Absolutely nothing."Quote:

No, I'm not mistaken there Mech.
Die Hard Arcade, however, was developed in-house and was rumoured during the intial stages to have been labelled Streets of Rage 4. If anything, DHA was to be the 3D sequel, Fighting Force has nothing at all to do with anything.
He also misspelled "totally lame", but these things happen.Quote:

But dammit, this just isn't fair. I mean, Sega owes us at least ten free games by now. And here they are with a bunch of snappy new remakes with modern-day graphics created without cost by magic pixy dust, and marketed and shipped to stores by volunteer christmas elves. And they're charging money for them? Since when did this become a mercenary affair? 20 whole dollars? Why not just ask for my liver, kidneys and first-born while they're at it! Dammit, when are we going to see some NEW games, Sega? And no, the 20 new games you came out with this year don't count.
Did anyone else catch this? Its really funny/clever, and its from Jeremy.Quote:

Total sig material.
Thanks for clearing that up, Mech. Thanks, Diffusion.
Wondering what Working Designs thinks about all this? Me neither. Still, this is kind of interesting, at least in the sense that it's interesting how completely out of touch he is now.
Several more choice bits from him in that thread. Mmm mmm good.Quote:
But the pics don't really look much different/better than the originals (Phantary Star), except for better color pallette and less jaggies. Not enough of an improvement, really.

I hope I can get close enough to Vic Ireland to punch him in the fucking face at E3. I have had heated exchanges with that asshole online since about 1996.
Nice.
Gain Ground & Bonanza Brothers will likely be a damnsight better than the MD versions. These System 24 games use Medium resolution as arcade titles... meaning the MD versions suffer graphically. While I'm on the subject of System 24, Scramble Spirits is one game I'd like to see. I'd pay $20 for each of these.
Does anyone else find the idea of Enduro Racer, Super Hang-on, and Turbo Out Run 3D remakes interesting?
That PS1 looks good, but there's the Gaijin Protection thing. :( Hopefully some US publisher will pick that up.
You don't say. It shouldn't be too hard to get a Japanese PS2 for that... which would cost about $250 or maybe even less. Sony will be probably using modchip lockouts again as they did with the PS1... The "Software Terminated. Console May Have Been Modified" screen is something I dread the thought of.Quote:

Something tells me Vic Ireland has never played Phantasy Star before.
