Well, yeah, it may be *a little* better (redone textures, etc), but we're really only looking at improvements that would bring them to SNES levels in the age of billion polygons/sec graphics processing. If you're going to redo it, redo it well, or just port it and call it good. The ground they chose doesn't look like it will satisfy many at all.

I really can't beleive Vic has never played or seen screenshots of PS1. That's pretty sad for a man in his position.

Okay, it's a quite old game, but the graphics are new at least. :)
I wonder how well it will Phantasy Star Remix sell. It's certainly cheaper than the $70 I paid for the original when it first came out. :p
I think there's a pretty good chance it will sell well. It's affordable and the Phantasy Star series is quite popular right now thanks to PS Online.
The real question is how will it sell in NA if Sega decides to bring it over. I think that they might since Phantasy Star is such an important franchise...

Sega should go all out. New Zillion games.. then make a new anime series too (which will hopefully not suck like the old one did)...
I can really see Zillion making the transition to 3D. You can have the sci-fi anime theme and add some modern stealth type gameplay, what with the alarm triggers and whatnot. Make the codes to open computer really complicated and maybe transition it to a modern "hacking" theme... You can base the game entirely on the original and create a real masterpiece. It might even have some mass appeal as well. :o

Those Vic quotes are hilarious. Its obvious from looking at two pictures that all the art has been redone and redrawn. It looks behind the times, yes, but no worse than, erm... Arc the Lad or Lunar 1/2 did when they came out. He really has no business talking. Ever. About anything.
Whats even funnier is that nobody on the board is telling him the reality of the situation, seemingly because he's Vic Ireland and they're not.
Zillion was a licensed game based on an obscure 80's anime. I doubt that it can be revived....
I think Vic sorta has a point. As cool as these games are to us hardcore gamers, I doubt that most people would spend money on a PS2 game with SNES-level graphics, even if it's only for $20.
Sega needs to bundle these in sets of 3 or 4 games and sell them for $40 or so....
