That remake does indeed look kick-ass.
sounds good...
BUT WHERE'S SHINING FORCE 4!?!?!? (or at least Shining Force 3 Compilation)
*cries self to sleep*
A Shining Force 3 collection would rule all.
I payed $10, and I got it no more than a year after it came out. That was the great part about SMS. the second hand games were unbeleivably cheap.Quote:

Actually it and the anime were based on the japanese equivelent of Lazer Tag. That's also why the Zillion gun and the Light Phaser look alike. Mmmm... cross promotional goodness...Quote:

It would have more recognition out of the gate than a completely new, unliscensed game, right? And if you beleive that any game not based on a liscense can't sell you are a tool.Quote:

I have nothing against Sega reviving the gameplay of the original Zillion, but I just don't think it's worth the trouble of reviving the actual Zillion name itself.
I will agree to that in full!Quote:

I want it for that sole reason. It was a great shooter for the olde' Sega Master System. And I agree a Zillion remake would be a wise choice it was a hard game on the SMS. It had an awesome premise and it was far beyond the times. It make sense now, more than ever, to redo that game. Seeing as how; they are remaking Fantasy Zone. A game if memory serves me that was not all that popular, but more of a cult classic.
Thats why I like Sega, even though they have screwed up on game recently. They listen and they understand the hardcore gamer and the old heads. I cannot wait for this 20 dollar game. I don't care how much, seeing as how all of them are being redone and stuff being added to them.
I think this is to see if its worthwhile to remake these games. It would be stupid not too. If they do this and the people clamor for it, I would not be suprised that Sega won't be working on new updates of these games. So, I want to see next , Power Drift. And a completely new AFTER BURNER. Done by SmileBit...yes I know they mess up alot, but Panze Dragoon Orta looks awesome. So, AfterBurner and Power Drift; done by the people who did Ferrari 355 or hell Sega GT.
It will be interesting to see how "3D" these games are going to be. After all they are all going to have 3D graphics now. I wonder if Sega picked D3 to be the publisher so they can call it 3D Ages, and have it make all sorts of sense and be clever.
But what I am wondering after seeing the PS shots with the 2D Characters in 3D backgrounds, do you think Streets of Rage will be like that? Or do you think it will have Poly characters. Who knows but I only see good things from these games.
I hope these sell like crazy in Japan so they chance bringing them here. But Japans current hate for Sega has me worried.
 It was an arcade game first you know. And the arcade version was exactly 1 million times better. The SMS port was ok, as was the japanese sunsoft-made NES one, but none of them hold a candle to the arcade/Saturn one.Quote:

Oh and the series was pretty popular in japan. I did some huge retrospective post on the series. IT's bigger than you'd think.
EDIT: Found it here
Am I the only REALLY excite about Streets Of Rage?? All I want is, basically, the same game, but imagining it with even nicer colors enlarge the characters a bit and the original soundtrack in full CD quality...please, Sega, keep it just like this ;) I have waited so long for something good in the Streets Of Rage line.....
