That sucks that streets of rage isn't getting a sequel, or a remake. This would have been the greatest day of my life. Actually, probably the second greatest day, runner-up to the day I would have played the new streets of rage.
Between these and the DC ports to xbox, now would be a perfect time for them to announce a port of the first shenmue to the xbox.
Agreed. This is bullshit, but what does it matter? None of these will come stateside anyway. I guess this is good news for importers who really want a few of those games, but that's about it.Quote:

Seriously Sega should be fined for waste of resources. 2500 yen or not, all of those games can, and should, easily fit on one DVD. Unbelievable. I remember when Capcom pulled this crap on the PSX, releasing every Mega Man game on a single disc.
The Phantasy Star gets a pass cause its a remake, but what of the other titles? If theyre not being totally redone too, its gouging.
I'm pretty sure it's now called Super Monkey Ball.Quote:

WHERE IN THE HELL IS MY PLANET HARRIERS?!
Throw in the originals as bonuses, and you'd have one rapidly rising future title on my want list.Quote:

I'll gladly eat those words though.

Wow wow wow wow wow WOW! :)
*flabbergasted*
This is soooo cool. Yes, I already have most of the games I want anyway.. but this is just fantastic in my book. I never thought any version of Alex Kidd now or old or port would be released again... but the fact that any versions of these games are being sold is great news. More people need to play some of these classics. Hopefully some will find popularity and convince Sega to make some updates to these long dormant great franchises like Alex Kidd and Fantasy Zone.
Plus, those updated version of Phantasy Star and Fantasy Zone.. well.. that's just incredible. Also, keep in mind, they could be updating the graphics to 3D while keeping the 2D gameplay in tact, in the case of Fantasy Zone in particular.
Anyway, people can complain all they want but I think this is wonderful news. For me anyway.. so nar nar nar nar to anyone who doesn't like it. Sega made me happy today! ;)
Now, er, about playing imports on PS2.....
Speaking of which, considering how important the Phantasy Star series is to Sega's plans I would not be surprised if at least that remake makes it to NA. :)
Considering this is magic box we're talking about, the only game I'll believe for now is the Phantasy Star remake....
It's not just Magic-Box. The information is on Sega of Japan's actual website (in Japanese) as well as other news sites like Gaming Age and Swirlvision (in English).

Believe it. :)
I do believe he was referring to the 3D remake of Fantasy Zone and such...
