Crazy Taxi sold fairly well on the PS2, don't know how it fared on the GC. Again, the sales are deceptive anyway since Sega doesn't need good sales to MAKE MONEY on ports or remakes. In the case of some of the ports, they were handled by Acclaim.

I love how people walk around thinking Sega are still in the red. They're doing "okay" now people. "Okay" as in able to feed everyone's families, work on new products, and be able to wake up tomorrow and walk into their nice offices without a problem... and still put something in the bank at the end of the day.
Great if you live in Japan or have a convenient method of importing. But if you want to see these titles stateside, the only way they'll sell is in compilations. 2500 yen rereleases may float in Japan, but they don't here.Quote:

Rereleases of this type have done quite well in Japan. Since Sega games are of indisputably high quality, I don't see why these games won't sell any worse at 2500 yen each.
Some of them ARE new games. Golden Axe and Fantasy Zone will be all new, from the first wave. I expect more will be as well.Quote:

No, I'm fully aware that many of these are remakes. That doesn't change anything, they're still not new games.

you might want to look at Success' Simple 2000 line. It's nothing but horseshit for the most part, but it's cheap as hell and people buy them, and Success made a killing off of them. These games actually have some name recognition behond them on top of the low price. They'll make plenty.Quote:

I don't know about Japan, but budget titles here go for $10, not $20 or $25. I can generally pick up a six-month old AAA title for $25.
+15 to Yoshi's PS2 collection :D
So are those XBox games "remakes" as well?
A Dynamite Dekka 2 with XBox quality graphics would kick ass.....
I'm betting the XBox remakes of the DC games will be much like the X-Box version of Shenmue II... some graphical enhancement, but not necessarily making full use of the hardware.
Not that there's anything wrong with that :D
I just hope they make the President's Daughter (or whoever the hell she was this time, it's been a while) look a little bit less like a Chelsea Clinton with the Xbox's awesome graphical power.
Don't ever bring up the President's Daughter in Deka 2, she looked beyond horrid. I know Sega's making money, but they need to make more of it consistently in an effort to, you know, STAY profitable. This is just one way for them to do it.
